Nice Place to Stay
The rooms were up to Western standards and I remember the prices being very reasonable. Nice show of hospitality.
Unique Quality: I believe all rooms have a balcony with a gorgeous view. Ours did at least.

Home on the Harbour
The restaurant in the hotel has amazing staff! They are quite prompt and polite (not to mention good looking!) The souvenir shop had quality products without the jacked up prices. I wasn't a fan of the 1950's plaid, Leave It to Beaver looking, bed spreads, but I don't think that really counts, does it? It is airconditioned.
Unique Quality: Great views of the Adriatic Sea from room balconies! A few minutes bus ride to Dubrovnik's historic Old Town and to the beaches!

American Service in Croatia
Hotel Petka... This is a 3 star with 5 star qualities. The owner actually studied how to run a hotel in Chicago before opening this one up in Croatia. I stayed for 2 weeks and had 0 problems. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always could be counted on to solve any problems or answer any question. Dalmatia (area Dubrovnik is in) is known to be a very laid back (lazy) culture but this hotel staff was anything but that. I would recommend this hotel to any Americans who like good service.
