Kompas Hotel D D, Dubrovnik, Croatia - Reviews and Hotel Information

This was the second worst hotel we have ever stayed in and we travel extensively for work and play. This hotel is located opposite a beach bar which has loud music that starts at 9am and goes on into the night. All the seaview rooms that you pay a premium for (and which we stayed in) overlook the bar, the restaurant (with constant smells) and pool. These rooms are also above the 'entertainment area' which is where they play very loud, cheesy live music EVERY night from 8ish onwards. The rooms have patio doors to the balconies that are not secured properly so through my earplugs, head under pillows ...I could still tell you what Eagles/Beatles/sad 70's song the group was playing. The rooms are very basic but clean, the food is fine but the service varies depending on where you sit or who you are dealing with. The view from these rooms is fabulous..if you are high enough to see the bay, we had to change rooms because they tried to fob us off with a pool view room for just under £1,000 for 8 nights..value for money? definately not, would we stay here again? absolutely, definately not!! save your money and stay in any other Lapad Penninsular hotel..the view is fabulous and you won't have the dreadful noise or smells we had to put up with. And a tip for Dubrovnik in general: if your idea of an ideal holiday is smoking, drinking and subathing, you will love it

The indoor pool had no water in it, the gym is closed in the afternoons, the piano has no player and the piano bar was never open...the only redeeming quality to this hotel was the lady who works in the outdoor pool area...she was fast, efficient and friendly at all times.
