Waking up to a view of the Adriatic

What a pleasure to look out over the Adriatic each night, and even more so in the mornings. This charming B&B was clean and well furnished, if on the basic side. Our room was about medium-sized, and the balcony added alot of pleasure.

And our hosts were very courteous and charming. Having driven in from Montenegro, we were totally lost upon arrival in the city, but a quick call brought the owner right down to the main tourist area, where he led us back up the winding streets to the hotel. His knowlege of Croatian history provided for some very interesting breakfast conversations.

We were also able to park the car outside during our stay, where it remained for the entire 4 days in safety.

Unique Quality: Let's face it: the fantastic view of the sea has its price, namely in the form of endless steps leading up the hillside. But anyone who has seen photos of Dubrovnik knows that cannot be avoided. We definitely got our leg workouts everyday, and even got lost a few times. But I would do it all again for the views.
Another bummer, though not unique to this B&B: one night a loud group arrived well into the night, after deciding to "bring the party home", as they say. On a hillside where accommodations and houses cling closely to one another, noise travels easily. And these guys were not holding back (just something to be aware of - not everyone is considerate of others' sleeping habits).

  • Opinion of Price: more expensive than average
