used baby stuff

by daused

I'm planning a trip to Dubrovnik with two small children and I'm wondering if there are any used baby stores in the area. I hate to buy new at Turbo Limac since I'll only be using the stuff for three weeks before giving it away before we head for home. I just need a stroller, portable crib (pack and play) and some car seats.

Any leads would be appreciated.

Hi! As far as I know there are no such stores in Dubrovnik (second hand stores are very, very rare in Croatia overall). But, contact RODA (It's a non- governmental association- Parents in Action), web site www.roda.hr, contact is on www.roda.hr/kontakt.php (it's in Croatian but to make things easier: Vase ime=Your name, Vas e-mail= Your e-mail, Vas komentar= Your comment (question)) as I saw they have various sales of baby stuff in various towns and you can contact them and they'll probably refer you to active members in Dubrovnik who might know about it or will arrange it for you. Or try www.crodream.com which has a site in English and advertises a lot of things in various places in Croatia. Hope this helps.

Travel Tips for Dubrovnik

Pearl of Adriatica

by codrutz

Take your time, at least five hours and walk inside the fortress, exmine every building, look at every detail...go back in time when the city was populated and the people were living there as you live now in your homecity.. Superb peninsula and a unforgettable view to the Adriatic Sea..

Franciscan Monastery Stone!

by pure1942

Just outside the Franciscan Monastery is an interesting point of local tradition. There is a small stone carving of a twisted gargoyle face, which juts out of the wall. A local custom has made this face a traditional test of man’s endurance, where he must balance on the narrow ledge of the stone, facing the wall and remove his shirt, without falling off ...a lot harder than it looks!

Marina

by travelmad478

Most people don't get to the areas outside the old city in Dubrovnik, but there are many pretty spots. When we were on our way out, we had to go to the harbor to pick up our rental car. This is also where the Jadrolinija ferry terminal is located. We spent a few hours there while the National Rent-a-Car office attempted to locate our car (!), so we had a good time wandering around looking at the boats, buying cherries and strawberries in the street markets, and drinking yet more coffee in outdoor cafes.

Lumbarda

by davesut

Lumbarda had a good beach with sand, probably the only beach we saw that could be classed as sandy. You could use a bucket and spade here. Drive throough the village and on through to th ecar park by the beach. Many people walked this distance, about one mile form the village centre. Lumbarda harbour/marina was pleasant with a few cafes to pick up lunch. Sorry no picture of this.

Public Transportation

by sgrljevich

Try not to drive around. Trafic is very bad! Public transpotation will take you to where you need to go. It is reliable and cheap. The cost is 10 Kunas (1,50 Euros) one way a taxi is about 10 Euro around town. 50 Euro to the airport.
