Ivica Mrkonjic: Great Apartment in Polace
If you want to spend a few days in Mljet - we were there a whole week - Polace is probably the best village on the island; the others are so small and secluded, that without a car you will have a hard time finding food or moving between places. Polace offers several minikmarkets and restaurants and easy free-minibus access to the beautiful national park, where you can bike, sail in kayaks and walk; swimming is great, as the lakes are warmer than the open sea. The water is cristal-clear and the pine forest reaches the beaches: beautiful views.
In Polace we rented a studio apartment plus a room (we were a couple plus two children) for the reasonable price of 100 Euro total. The owners are very kind and friendly and the accomodation is modern and clean. The rooms vary so be sure to get one with sea-view (some are darker and smaller than others), and the larger apartment is great.

Hotel Odisej 3*: Best hotel in region
The charming Hotel Odisej is located in the picturesque harbour of Pomena, in the heart of Mljet National Park, which is considered one of the world's most beautiful diving locations.
This fully air-conditioned property offers spacious and comfortable guestrooms with seaview, a cosy bar, a restaurant, a meeting room as well as a beautiful outdoor swimming pool with children's area.
Visitors can furthermore enjoy pleasant evenings discovering the characteristic harbour area, with its traditional tavernas, restaurants and bars.

Lodging in Mljet National Park: Private accommodation in the National Park Mljet
I strongly recommend the visit to the Mljet National Park on the Mljet Island in Croatia.
The lodging in Apartments Soline (insid the Park's area!) was something special. The location, people, food... Mmmm...
Go there! ;-)
Unique Quality: The apartments are a part of a private home. Each of them has a balcony with a breath taking view of the sea and a separate entrance. Also, each apartment has its own parking space.
These tree star apartments have the capacity for 2 persons, with an area of 32 m².
They contain a master bedroom (sheets included), full bathroom, kitchen, and living room with a balcony. With your request, you can receive two extra beds which could be placed in the living-room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a sink, refrigerator, freezer, stove. Apartments are also equipped with TVs with satellite TV program.

Villa Hansel: Excellent accommodation on Mljet
Villa Hansel is located in Saplunara which is a lovely village in south east Mljet. It is run by the friendly and helpful Boris and Jany Hansel. The apartments are spacious and immaculately kept.
If you like a quiet holiday we would certainly recommend staying here.
Unique Quality: The view from the apartments is quite outstanding looking over Saplunara Bay which is a haven for yachts at night.

Hotel Odisej: The only hotel in the Park
If you're heading to Mljet there aren't a great deal of accomadation choices. You're pretty limited to this hotel, a handful of Sobe's of a could of camping grounds. However there did seem to more and more Sobe's popping up and some them looked like they miht have been a better option than the Odisej. Given the price the Odisez is a little dissapointing. We opted for the most expensive room with a sea view and a balcony. This was great in the evening because you can buy wine etc form the shop and drink it in full view of the sun setting. Most people at the hotel are on package deals seemingly originating from Germany, Italy and even the UK. We opted for a B&B which meant a buffet breakfast. We also tried out the Buffet dinner which actually wasn't bad given that it only cast 85 Kuna (though we should have upgraded to HB then it would have only been an extra 75 Kunas. The hotel staff were a bit grumpy at times and seemed to do as much as they could to move us from the restaurant after only 4 visits to the buffet (!). The hotel provides transportation around the island which is quite expensive but they do rent out cars and scooters. They have a diving school attached but they didn't seem that interested in our enquiry on snorkelling trips (actually we enquired when we first arrived and later found that the late is teeming with sea life). I did notice that he rates of foreign exchange they were offering were quite favourable and the hotel even has an ATM, bar, restaurant, pizzeria, terrace bar, concrete beach area, and then at the lake they rent out bikes, boats, kayaks, canoe and probably other things that I can't remember!
