Dog beach and dog droppings
by yumyum
At the beginning of the promenade to the Golden Beach there is a small stretch of beach for your dog. In all other places dogs are banned from the beaches.
Also you will find signs in Bol that you are to pick up your dog’s pooh. There are free pooh bags available.
Roman cistern
by yumyum
In the trees by the Golden Beach you will find remains of the Roman cistern. The cistern belonged to a complex of farm buildings and was vaulted in barrel shape standing on two arches.
Unfortunately, the place looks a bit worn as no doubt every summer thousands of tourists are walking to and fro right beside it.
House in house (kuca u kuci)
by yumyum
Now this is something very special. One day some wealthy merchant wanted to build a big house in the town right in the spot where there was already a smaller house. Because the inhabitants of the small didn’t want to give up their house, the merchant decided to build his hug house on top of it. This all happened in the 19th century. The huge house was never finished because one day the merchant sailed away on business and never returned.
Currently, you cannot go inside and it’s actually not so easy to photograph the whole thing. Please note that it's not so easy to find this place despite the signs but it's located in the center of town but you will have to follow a few tiny streets.
Dominican monastery
by yumyum
The people of Bol decided together with the Duke of Brac, Zarcharia, on the spot where the Dominicans could build their retreat which had a great influence over centuries on the town. That was in 1475. Today the monastery houses a museum and the church is well worth a look with an altar from the Jacob Tintoretto workshop. There are strange opening hours which cannot always be relied upon. Best ask in the tourist office.
For the small church see the separate tip. Also there is a lovely old cemetery there to visit.
The monastery and its church is located to the east of town on the edge of the sea at the end of town. Behind the monastery there is a nice beach with rubbish bins but no public toilet or shade anywhere.
Town of Bol on Brac Island

"Zlatni Rat - Golden Beach"
The Bol beaches are wonderful, among them the Zlatni Rat is the most interesting - with its moving gritty peak. The wind and the waves shape its form continuously. It is the only beach that you've heard of that changes its shape from day to day.
"Town of Bol"
Across from Split lies the Island Brac, the highest and by size the third largest island in the Adriatic. It is covered with pine woods, vineyards and olive groves and the world famous limestone been used in the construction of many important buildings of the world.
There are many bathing-places and resorts on Brac: Postire, Milna, Supetar. The island has something for everyone.
Bol, one of the coastal settlements on the southern side of the island, on the foot of the highest hill, Vidova gora. Bol is also the biggest tourist center of the island because of its world famous beach - Zlatni rat.
"The creative passion of nature"
There, the grace of nature made everything better than man could do, proofing right those who claim that nature is the greatest artist.
The sea at the entire area is quite crystalline. On still days the stones on the sea-floor that are 30 feet down look only an arm's length away.
These make the Adriatic special.
The only miraculous fact is that, the creative passion of nature was unfolded in such abundance that one becomes breathless in presence of all that beauty.
