Parking in Split

by bigted4956

We have booked a Hotel in Split over 16th July to 19th July but they don't have any good parking. We have a rental car which we need to park somewhere. Has anyone got experience with this and have you any suggestions for secure parking?
Thanks

Hay.

I have studyed in Split, but I haven't been there since last year. Anyway, the parking places are really a problem. The are, of course, parking paces for paying...but the question is...are there going to be free places?

I suggest you to contact the Tourist Office (http://www.visitsplit.com/ ,
tel/fax: 385 (0)21/345-606

Have a nice stay

Travel Tips for Split

Stari Varoš

by croisbeauty

Stari Varoš is, ubdoubtely, the most charming part of Split. It is endlessly pitoresque with it small stone houses which seems like "wild and chaotic" constructions. Actually, you never know where starts and ends the same house, and most of them look like bunch of grapes. When strolling around you'll find yourself occasionally in dead-end streets but don't panic, there is always way in and way out. It is pitty that most of the tourists do not visit this part of the city which is, for no reason, out of the guided city tours.

Cleanest Public Toilet

by FRONA

When you are tired from sightseeing and shopping and have to go to the loo, o man it can be a real hassle to find a loo. Well, when you get to be in Split, check out the cleanest public toilet that I have ever been to. Its certainly the cleanest place around Split.

Check the photo. It is just off Marmontova shopping street and towards Grgur Ninski statue. Cant miss it.

Driving in Split

by BamaJed

Getting into Split, you will see an increase in traffic. They are doing some construction work both North and South of the city. Once inside the Center, get ready, because the traffic is crazy, often one way and it is very easy to end up in a pedestrian zone! Parking is horrible. Lucky for us, the Hotel Bellvue has free parking.

A Close by And Busy Little Airport

by BruceDunning

Surprisingly there is a lot of people traffic to this airport. Mainly because of the tours that arrive here to disburse to other parts, and/or see Split and surrounding towns. It is packed inside at least once a day when planes come in/or go out for these tourists; me being one of them.
Location is aobut 20 miles north of Split, just one mile south of Trogir on a side road off E8 Road. It is fairly easy to find, unless you get off the Autohighway, where the signage becomes nonexistent after going down the road. From there, you just guess.
There are 350 parking spaces and sufficient rental cars and variety.

A little of everything

One of the things I loved about Diocletian's Palace is that you can do so much in it. First there are a couple of tours that in my opinion are not really worth paying for. If you are hungry there are many great little eating places inside the Palace walls. I stayed in a hotel that was in the very center of the palace, and when we went drinking that night we never left the palace walls. In short you can party, eat, sleep, and learn a little history all building that Diocletian called home.
