Bus from Montenegro to Split (Croatia)

by Odysseus101

I need to plan my transportation from Montenegro (Podgorica or Tivat or Kotor) to Split, Croatia. The distance is relatively small, and by airplane or ferry is too complicated and expensive.
Can anyone tell me if there is a a bus service from Montenegro to Croatia (Split)?
Thank you so much

There are 4 buses a day from Herceg Novi to Dubrovnik (http://www.libertasdubrovnik.hr/voznired.swf) and then plenty of buses from Dubrovnik to Split. I think just 1 bus goes directly from Kotor to Dubrovnik, round about lunchtime.

Architectural beauties

Split's Old Town and the Diocletian's Palace are full of interesting sights, including this impressive six storey campanile that rises above the Cathedral of St. Domnius in the heart of the palace. It was begun in the 13th century, but wasn't finally completed until 1908. The views from the top are great. You'll be able to get your bearings in the palace and see well beyond the Old Town out to greater Split.

That's a lovely Marina in the eastern part of Split, surrounded by some hotels.
A sunken sailing ship half emerges from the sea in one corner of the harbour and, generally speaking, the area is worth a visit for a nice walk at sunset, when you can enjoy a magnificent view on the gulf and the islands.

Shopping centre Koteks

In Koteks shopping centre there are different shops where you can buy things from clothes to stationary. Among the shops is a shop called Euroshop that sells different houshold items.
In the complex is also a coffee bar 'Cukarin'.

If you don't sail there, you either drive or fly to Split. Another option is the ferry to and from Italy. In fact, I left the crew in Split (I had only one week, the rest of the crew stayed for two) and took a ferry from Split to Ancona in Italy, from where I took a train back to Munich.

Sperun

by grkboiler about Sperun

Sperun is a nice restaurant with Dalmatian specialties. It is a small place with a cozy interior and very fresh food. Service is great. I had the seafood risotto which was excellent. The appetizers are also good here. Try the calamari salad.
