Enjoyable Hotel Overlooking Harbour

This hotel was well located right on the waterfront and a pleasant walk to the city centre. We were only staying one night and had been told by our coach director that this hotel was a little below the standard we had previously enjoyed. However our room was satisfactory, recently painted, good carpet, clean and a balcony with a great view of the harbour and out to sea.
Our group had dinner in the hotel's dining room and it was a very good meal, as was breakfast the next morning. This hotel was most likely buily 50 or 60 years ago and retains the character of that era, however it has been maintained as a good tourist class hotel, not to be compared to some of the modern international group hotels in Zagreb and other capital cities.

Alot more expensive than the last time I was there

Many of the rooms have now been refurbished and the room I had gave great views of the City and a balcony to sit out on and watch the sun go down! The Breakfast isn't up to much, so that hadn't changed much since the last time I was there! Unfortunately - Hotel prices seem to be rising in Croatia at an alarming rate!

Unique Quality: It'll be nice when they've finished builing it!

A bit run down, but still good options

Those hotels are still waiting to be privatised and bought by someone who would invest some money in much needed face-lifts of the old ladies. Still, they offer good value for money and you can't beat the location of Bellevue or the views from hotel Marjan.

Certainly at one of the best locations in town -on Prokurative. If you are looking for good night sleep don't take the room offering the view of the square since you'll probably have to listen to some concert till late in the evening. Rates start from 70/100 Eur for single/double.

Situated in 1970s 16-storey tower hotel overlooks the busy ferry port and offers nice views of the central part of Split. 15-minutes walk from bus/train station and ferry terminal.

HOTEL JADRAN

Situated in a nice and peaceful bay in Meje area, on the south side of Marjan hill. 20-minutes walk from center of Split, and very close to some of the best beaches on Marjan hill.

More about Hotel Marjan

Great family owned cottages

by zambeziqueen about Garden Apartments

We stayed at Garden Apartments for 1 night after arriving in the evening in Split. We were warmly welcomed by Nicola's parents who despite limited English were very kind and helpful. We had arrived without any Euros and had not been able to exchange/ draw any Kuna so we were facing an evening with no cash and therefor no dinner. They very kindly helped us out and advised us on a great restaurant just down the hill, which was our best seafood meal in the 2 weeks we spent in Croatia. Later that night Nicola helped my parents park their rental car (they arrived even later than us!) and the next morning helped us get around town to get to the ferry.

We were in a 3 bed 1 room apartment and my parents and sister stayed in a 2 + 1 room, both were very comfortable with clean kitchen and bathroom.

We were rather sad that we could not spend longer and would whole heartedly recommend it to other people.

We found directions very easy to follow from the airport bus drop off point. we trundled our wheelie bags along and were quickly there but my parents battled with the directions for driving and luckily stumbled across us walking back after our wonderful meal. it is near the hotel Marjan but up the hill up some steps. what caused confusion was all the other signs for the Marjan proper that they were following. the other confusion was that the sign outside the gate did not say garden apartments but another name. wonderful warm welcome
Charming accommodation and clean facilities
Easy access to Riva (promenade) of Split

Does anyone know if this hotel has been refurbished. Its in a good location, I stayed there in 2002 but it was very tired back then

As far as I know, hotel Marjan is still not finished.
In the future it will be part of the Hilton chain. I just checked and they don't seem to have it in their reservation system which means the day of the opening is not certain yet.
