Nice hotel
by TripAdvisor Member 123456_8
I spent 3 days in Le Meridien Lav, and i have to say that overral i am satisfied with the stay. The hotel is a big property, with many facilities (casino, disco, a couple of restaruants, tennis, marina, spa, swimming pool - indoor and outdoor). Prices of the food and beverages are expensive. The staff is fluent in english, although it obviously needs training. Regarding the staff, bellman Boris was a top man, very nice and helpful. Hotel is located 8km southeast from Split. Taxi is very expensive (about 120 kn- approximately 17 euros). There is a shuttle bus service that goes to Split twice every day-enaduquate.
I hope i will return Le Meridien Lav in june.
Conference in the Adriatic
by TripAdvisor Member rmar4225
I stayed for four nights at the end of september 2007. I was there for a conference that was hold at the same hotel.
Everything was excelent: the room, the breakfast and also the rooms for the conference.
I only found two 'problems': the price of bars and restaurants (they were expensive, but I guess that according to the hotel category) and the shuttle van (not bus) to the old town that only can take up to 8 people.
Super business style hotel with resort facilities
by TripAdvisor Member Gaspari
Large smart modern property with attractive well equiped rooms, comfortable top quality bed/duvets/linens etc and excellent housekeeping standards. We had a classic sea view room right on the marina which was very quiet and a fairly good size with sofa. Think a sea view is essential here, as the back is unattractive with a noisy, busy, dangerous coast road. We thought the marina block looked the most peaceful, as it is furthest away from the road and nearest the sea.
Location looked a bit unpromising from the road on arrival as is a rather urban, developed, not particularly attractive coast, but once inside the property, the views of the coast and pool/ beach areas are very nice with a more resort feel.
Pool small but inviting, with spacious area for loungers (never any problem getting one), and nice pebbly beach for swimming / lounging if you prefer. Spa facilities looked excellent.
Service was universally efficient, pleasant and helpful.
A la carte restaurant food and environment quite good, buffets adequate but not special, good breakfasts, but a rather limited offering of light meals / snacks. We didn't feel the 'pub' was up to scratch in terms of environment / service compared with the rest of the hotel. Nice champagne bar, variable music offering.
Prices typical of any large international hotel.
The hotel is rather out of the way with nothing much else around, and unlike most other things in Split , taxis are quite expensive - £12 each way into town can add up. The minibus is too small and too infrequent for the size of hotel, although the local bus runs 1/2 hourly.
Not sure Split as a city delivers completely as a holiday destination, despite some interesting sights / islands, but no doubt that this hotel does deliver, and definitely offers the best option in the area.
We would love to go back there!

My mother, daughter aged twelve, and I have just spent 4 days there. The location was beautiful, if not convenient for the town. The hotel provides free shuttle bus, and the driver Toni is an excellent guide, in fact more informative and enthusiastic than the lady at the concierge desk. We were not lucky with the weather, but had a lovely time anyway, spent in town as well as in the hotel spa.
We had a DBB package for the first two nights, but found restaurant Spalatum disappointing. It does not compare well with other restaurants in other Starwood hotels in seaside locations. We found another restaurant Pivnica much more satisfactory.
We would love to go back there, and we would try visiting some of the islands next time, too.
Fantastic Hotel

Well I stayed at this great Hotel in July 2007 and even though it's a while after my stay, I thought I should write a review as the stay was so memorable. As soon as you step into the hotel the first thing that takes your breath away was the view...just amazing, view of the hills, Split and the Sea. The Hotel was Brand new when we stayed so it had still allot of empty spaces that need furniture and maybe a couple of paintings but the overall hotel was Huge and Amazing Pools (1 Outdoors and 1 Indoor heated). Also the spa was fantastic.
The main restaurant in the hotel was great, Service perfect. I don't really recommend the Restaurant out near the main entrance as I have to admit the Pizza was quite Bad!.
But overall our stay was just perfect, We had the best room with an Ocean room and the room was spotless and clean and very modern. Loved it.
