Central Apartments

Peter, the endlessly energetic and incredibly friendly guy who runs Situs hotel, branched out into apartments and we had the good fortune of being one of the first guests: He was booked out solid for weeks. The apartment is just outside the old town, in a friendly neighbourhood near the Bacvice beach. It's easily walkable.

The apartment obviously belonged to in his family, probably his sister judging by the feminine touches, and is very clean, comfortable and well looked after. It's a bit small, and cramped, but it has everything you need, including a cooker, fridge, aircon unit, and a laptop hooked up to a fast wi-fi connection. Anything else you need, like maps, info, etc., Peter will sort you out with.

At 70 euros a night it wasn't cheap, but it was good value by Split standards in August. If you want something cheaper, they run a hostel too. I didn't stay there, but I did see it, and it was as clean, well kept and well equipped as the apartment. It had nice big rooms, a lounge with a playstation, library and tv, and air conditioning.

The apartment isn't near the hostel, but you will need to go to the hostel first to sort things out. Peter drove us across to the apartment after we met, and even took time out to show us a few parts of the town, like the beach area. Given how incredibly busy he is, that was a very generous gift of his time.
