A great place to stay

Very nice small hotel about 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of Split. Free parking, good breakfast, spotlessly clean. Helpful friendly staff.

Short walk from town ctr, Quiet, New!

Ahh, this place was fantastic. After a month of backpacking, I met up with my parents at the Hotel Marjela. After staying in hostels and private accomodations, this place was paradise. The staff were extremely helpful and down-to-earth, and all spoke very good English. It's a small hotel tucked away in a quiet neighborhood just north and west of the town center. Very easy to walk to. TVs in the rooms, our room also had a balcony. Private bathroom (very clean, best showers!!). They even put an extra bed in our double room to accomodate the 3 of us. Also helped us with the ferry schedules as we were planning a trip to the island of Hvar.

Unique Quality: While the views aren't anything to brag about (most rooms will overlook a dirt parking lot), you shouldn't be spending much of your time in the room anyway! Split is a fantastic city with a beautiful promenade overlooking the Adriatic. This hotel has no pool. They serve a continental breakfast in the morning (yoghurt, cereal, bread, juice, coffee). It is a small, quaint place.

Does anyone have any info on Villa Marjela? It seems quite a good deal for centrally located (?) hotel.

Do you have any other suggestions for price range 70-100e downtown hotels? It seems it is hard to find one!

I've never heard of this hotel before, but just checked online and it seems OK.
Jobova street is in a residential area of Split (Spinut), a good 20-30 minutes walk from the center of town. Not exactly a very central location, but I see no reasons why not give it a try.

You will love Villa Marjela. Nenad, the owner, speaks english and is very accomodating. The place is clean and quiet. Fast walk to Varos, cut through the school. Have fun in Split--Croatia is the best.

My friends and I had a great time staying there last summer.
It's very clean and quiet and the breakfast is awesome. We walked
to town everyday because it's just few minutes away, but what's
most important, the owner is a great guy and helped us a lot
with all info we needed (even with the ferry tickets to Italy
IN AUGUST!). Anyway by saying that the phone number of Villa Marjela
is the only reference I kept for my next visit I said it all.
