Fortress Kamerlengo is situated at west end of Trogir islet. It is rather small but compact fortress which served as the naval base in Venetian times of the town.
Nowadays it is an multimedia center with open air cinema.

Porta Terrae Ferme

by croisbeauty

The north town gate, Porta Terrae Ferme, late neo-renaissance main town entrance connected with small stone bridge was built in 1656.
On the top of the gate stands the gothic sculpture from the begining of 15th century, representing bishop Ivan Orsini protector of the town and the city patron. The sculpture is work of Bonino from Milano.

City Hall-Rector's Palace

by BruceDunning

The building is used for administrative purposes, and been around quite some time, even though not the same building all that time. It is known for the Gothic staircase in the courtyard, and winged lion on the wall of the building. It is a simple looking square building. It was first constructed in 15th century, and rebuilt in 1890 into the front having a Renaissance style then. It was a theater from 17th century until the fire in 1890.

Trogir, narrow passages

by JLBG

The old city of Trogir is a wealth of narrow passages. It is always interesting to stroll along, with no special goal. You will discover little jewels.

The first photo shows a small restaurant in a narrow passage. I know nothing of the food but the tables and chairs are entirely made with parts of olive trees, stumps and contorted trunks and branches. Isn't it pretty ?

The following photos shows passages where the sun is playing with the front wall or with the pavement, giving beautiful pictures for the photographer.

The last photo shows a covered passage with a balcony on top but if you look carefully, you will see that the balcony does not exist and that it is a trompe-l'oeil !

Trogir

by raintown4

Trogir is very small and quite scenic. It was a great place for us to kick back after a very long first day in Croatia.

We stayed at the Fontana Hotel and ate a sumptuous meal at their restaurant. We walked around the island. We noticed that very few people were speaking English as compared with Italy. We also noticed a large amount of families and young people. We liked the liveliness of the town.
