Dorms at University of Zagreb were standard fare with showers in each double room. Beds were a little lacking, but for the price, it was very much worth it. Dorms provide hostel-like environment, letting you meet and interact with other young folks staying at the university. We stayed at Garden Apartments for 1 night after arriving in the evening in Split. We were warmly welcomed by Nicola's parents who despite limited English were very kind and helpful. We had arrived without any Euros and had not been able to exchange/ draw any Kuna so we were facing an evening with no cash and therefor no dinner. They very kindly helped us out and advised us on a great restaurant just down the hill, which was our best seafood meal in the 2 weeks we spent in Croatia. Later that night Nicola helped my parents park their rental car (they arrived even later than us!) and the next morning helped us get around town to get to the ferry. We were in a 3 bed 1 room apartment and my parents and sister stayed in a 2 + 1 room, both were very comfortable with clean kitchen and bathroom. We were rather sad that we could not spend longer and would whole heartedly recommend it to other people. We found directions very easy to follow from the airport bus drop off point. we trundled our wheelie bags along and were quickly there but my parents battled with the directions for driving and luckily stumbled across us walking back after our wonderful meal. it is near the hotel Marjan but up the hill up some steps. what caused confusion was all the other signs for the Marjan proper that they were following. the other confusion was that the sign outside the gate did not say garden apartments but another name.

The Hotel Alan in Stari Grad is conveniently located to Paklenica National Park. However, its high-rise form on the edge of a fairly rural area, mediocre rooms, popularity with "all-inclusive" local package tours and passable but lacking meals make it an uninspired choice. If you're headed to the area, you'll do much better with one of the small pensions, rooms or apartments for rent. Perhaps in peak season you might need to plan ahead a bit to assure a room, but when we were there (April), the area was sparsely visited and a wide selection of accomodations were available.

Well, I don't like so much this hotel, but it is very useful because its good position for the transports in Zagreb.
It is not a nice hotel, and the quality is not the best, anyway it is just in front of train station, that is a very good place for people who are travelling by train. It is also not away from Bus station; just two stops, by tram Rooms - prices: from 70 till 98 Euro. Hotel Dubrovnik has a great location right on the main square (Trg Jelacica) in Zagreb. The rooms are clean and good size, although the decor seems a bit dated. Being something of a business hotel, the weekend we stayed, Hotel Dubrovnik was offereing a weekend special - the stay included half-board and tickets to a performance. We received tickets to the Zagreb Philharmonic. It was an excellent performance and got us to do something we probably wouldn't have considered on our own - so I consider the experience very worthwhile.
Excellent location in the heart of Zagreb.

The people at this hotel are hard working and friendly. The service is very good overall. There are plenty of English speaking people to help you find what you are looking for as far as tourist activities. The rooms have air conditioning that work ok but won't freeze you out by any means. Parking can be a little tight, but we always found a spot. The breakfast buffet is very adequate and clean.
The views around the hotel are very scenic. Very relaxing atmosphere. Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Verdula, Pula Croatia

Location, location, location! Tiny room, small bathroom. But great location with reasonable rate! Loved it!

I found this hotel to be a lot of fun as long as you adjust to the slightly military way it is run. They are used to feeding and accommodating large coach groups so be prepared to be in a crowded situation at meal times. The food is mostly of a good standard and they try hard to please. Unless you choose a la carte you will be offered only a buffet choice. Hotel Jezero's location is perfect as it is right in the park so you need not use your car during your stay unless you want to drive to another restaurant location.
Terrific location lovely rooms many overlook the lakes but you must ask for a room with a verandah which costs a little more. Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: NP Plitvicka Jezera, Plitvice CroatiaDirections: Not that far from the Slovenian border
