In June 2007 my husband and I enjoyed a cruise with the Katarina Line on one of their converted fishing boats. I have tried to make bookings for September 2010 and have emailed the company both through their website and also to the person I was dealing with in 07. I have sent about four emails but have not received any reply. The email I sent to the person was receipted as received but no response. Are they still in business? Have they gone under because of the recession? As we were cruising on the southern coast including Dubrovnic we want to explore the northern area this time. If Katarina Line are no longer doing these cruises we would be interested to learn of any other line which does similar trips - the main criteria for us is that it is a smaller cruise boat with up to say forty passengers. Their head office is in Opatija and they are open for business. Look up their sailing offers and contact them on the web site already mentioned.
Have already left email on their website several times. That is why I wonder if they are still in business.

We have booked with our travel agent excursions at Plitvice, Pula, Rovinj, Porec, Pazin, all of them being good occasions to discover beautiful places and nice people too.
The signs of just finished war were not so visible here...
I have to mention especially the city of Rovinj. It was a real gem discovered just by chance. We have promised to ourselves that we have to go back some time...
There exist unique promenade area in Opatija. It is twelve kilometres long coastal promenade, from Volosko to Lovran, called Lungomare. The walking path is paved, in whole its length, and offers enjoyable moments of tranquility and romance.
Opatija is situated on the Istrian peninsula, very close to Rijeka.
Istria in general is a very popular destination for hundreds of thousands of European holidaymakers because of its vicinity to Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary...
In Opatija you will find even a greater mixture of nationalities. The last time I was there it was off-season (October) and nevertheless I met Dutch, Polish, Israeli and American tourists along with the already mentioned nationalities.
Opatija is a traditional and highly-ranked destination on the tourism map of the Republic of Croatia, as well a prestigious destination on the signpost of western Kvarner. This small city, with about 10.000 inhabitants, has an enviable network of tourist activities.
Opatija was the very first to go in for tourism with a health and fitness slant, and now offers medically programmed vacations in a tradition maintained by Thalassotherapia.
It is a place with a large number of very quality hotels and most of them might be called the traditional ones.
Besides the promenade of Lungomare, this section which is situated right in front of the hotel Palace is the most popular one. It is also the meeting point and the place where one can see and be seen. Do not miss to be here in the hot summer nights, when visiting Opatija, because it is the place where many beautiful girls passes by.
