I have stayed few times in this Hotel during my visits to Opatija. It is a nice old Hotel near the “main cities beach” and just next to the bus station. Don’t worry :) it is a small town so you don’t have to worry about the noise.
Hotel is quite old building from the Hapsburg period, and this is exactly what is so interesting for me. It is not a luxury hotel with bunch of stars but he has some spirit and soul of old times. It is almost you can imagine ladies with gorgeous dresses who are taking a walk in to the nearest park with the umbrellas from lace to protect them from the sun. And of course gentleman’s are giving them a help :) oh I just love that image.
Unique Quality: It is a very quite hotel just ideal for spending few easy days in Opatija. Hotel is ideal for business trips or just to spend the night or two passing thru the coast. Although, it has a pool with salt water, and some other offers for tourist like massage, tennis ...
What is the most beautiful about this Hotel is the unbelievably large and beautiful terrace. You should take some time for yourself and drink some coffee.
Food - oh what can say about that. One time it was so good, so fresh and tasty but at the other time we haven't been satisfied. So we have make some joke that the cook went to take a swim.
So, if you are reading this you may wonder why did I come back despite the all not so positive things, well it is because the price of course. You can stay for a few days and pay unbelievably low prices compare to the other Hotels. There are also some special offers, really favorable in late spring and early autumn time and this is the most beautiful season for Opatija. My opinion, of course ...

I've stayed there twice and it was satisfactory. It's a B category hotel, 3 stars, 200 rooms & 7 suites.
It consists of a part that was built way back in 19th century (1888) and a "new" part (1968).
The best thing about it is its location - town center, 200 m from the main public beach.
Parking can be a problem as their private parking area accomodates cca 70 cars and the central location makes it VERY difficult to find parking in the vicinity.

Grand old hotel, a little jaded in some areas, but we had a good double room with windows on two sides, the front one overlooked the sea, and we had a separate bathroom. Breakfast was very good indeed with all the usual continental things, but eggs and bacon as well if you wanted it.
Unique Quality: The hotel has quite a large indoor saltwater swimming pool which we used on one of the days there when we had rain.
