 | Palace-Bellevue Hotel: The Riviera for less

I won't lie, the Palace-Bellevue isn't the sort of hotel that you normally associate with the Riviera, although its exterior is absolutely beautiful. Its the inside that is deceiving, particularly the rooms, with their doors that just don't quite lock properly and furnishings that scream 1970s makeover by a colourblind man. The bed was decent and the bathroom was large if old.The room also had a TV that didn't work and a minibar that, I think, was cold some of the time I stayed at the Palace-Bellevue. Nevertheless, you don't stay here for the rooms as much as for your central location and the access to the breathtaking seafront. Some of the rooms have breathtaking views of the sea; unfortunately, I only saw the parking lot. The room was still quiet, and I was able to sleep fine, despite the noise a bit farther down on Marsala Tito near the nightclubs.
The exterior and the dining rooms still evoke the Hapsburg splendour of Opatija and the views on the grounds of the building are spectacular.
