Porec/Bijela Uvala/Plava and Zelena Laguna
"Porec"
Porec is small town located on the west coast of Istra. The town has a population of about a 1000 during the year but in the summer time the population grows to about 10000 (counting all of the hotels in the area ofcourse). The city has a great ancient feel to it and the center is filled with shops, restaurants and stores (the best restaurant by far is Nono, huge pizzaz so be careful how much you order). The highlight of the city are the Euraphrasian Basilica, its free and surely worth a look. The best night spot located about a 5 minute walk west of the center on the beach, its packed everyday and runs all night long.
"Bijela Uvala/Zelena Laguna"
They are the camps in which I have gone to 3 times in the past 5 years. It is a 5 star camp and the two of them contain about 10000 people themselves. Inside the camp there are pools, pingpong tables, mini golf, tennis, canoeing, pedalboating, beach volleyball etc., as well as a couple of restaurants and grocery stores inside (although you can get more bang for your buck and more quality food outside. Zelena Laguna has a nudist beach but sorry i dont have any pictures of that ;)
P.S. the camp was filled with foreigners (surprisingly there were lots of Belgians and Dutch people), so in here being croatian was an asset for once with the security guards (the told everyone else to go home while they chilled with us as we had a couple of drinks)
"Plava Laguna"
Its a small city that consists of a bunch of hotels, apartments and camps. There are a bunch of restaurants and shops but nothing special, most people go to Porec for their shopping. The best thing in the city is the night club International. Its a really good and big club, the only downfall is that sometimes it is not full. Last year tho a Dutch graduating class were there and they tore the place apart, good times:)
