Hi.
I'm arriving at Porec on this week. I heard that many shops, restoraunts, etc. in Croatia are closed from noon till 4 p.m. Is there some restaurants or bars which are open at this time? And what about shops open at this time (12am-4pm)? Thanks in advance.
I can assure you that restaurants in Croatia do not close at lunchtimes, especially in high season!! Not all shops close then either, especially in tourist resorts - I would have thought this was more a problem for monuments and offices; but even if a shop that interests you closes for lunch, just go back later!

The captain said it's okay...the seagulls were just hungry but if we fed them, they would come for more !
For me, this is an opportunity to take photos !

He flapped his wing, trying NOT for me to capture him, but I did that anyway ! Maybe my cap scared him ?

The closest train station is n Kanfanar, which is about 30- 45 min. of a drive
For this one, I have no doubt as there are so many around, on the sea floor. It is an holothuria or sea cucumber, Holoturia tubulosa trying to play with a frisbee ! Usually, they do not try to play frisbee when there are tourists around. It is so difficult for an armless harmless beeing ! They are ashamed of their clumsiness and hide.
A visit to Zelena Laguna was a must for me because we spent two weeks there in 1981, although I'm sure it was called Plava Laguna then, maybe my memory is playing tricks or too much pivo or both! Anyway the resort appears to be more up market now although the buildings are pretty much as I remembered, only smarter. Now mostly visited by Germans and Austrians looking at the car park, didn't hear an English voice all day, never mind!
