Hotel Filipini

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Filipini? It looks lovely on the web but I'd like to hear from anyone who has actually stayed there. As you all know, sometimes photos can be deceptive.

I haven't been to that hotel, but I spent some nights at Hotel Porec. This is near the bus station. It is cheap and near the town center. The food served was good.
Perhaps on tripadvisor.com there are some reviews about Hotel Filippini.

Travel Tips for Porec
the beaches

because i was working hard i only had the time to go to the neach 3 times in a month. The first time wasnt too nice because the water was covered with yucky green stuff and we definately didnt feel like swimming there. The next times it was very nice, a little cold in the beginning but after a short while it was lovely. The only bad thing about it is that there are no sandy beaches there at all. its all rocks.
A good advice is to buy some plastic beachshoes, they will have the experience much better. You can buy them everywhereon the shore for about 50 kn
The Round tower

The Round tower (Oktugla kula), on Narodni Trg, was built in the second half of the 15th century. It is another of the few remains of the defenses of the city and of the city wall. On top of the Round tower, a restaurant has installed its terrace with parasols. We have not tried it but should next time (at least for the sight !)
Mis-Mas

A drink I first discovered in 1981, it's a little like sangria - red wine and fruit juice - with spirts added to give it a little oooomph. Never seem to get two the same, I think whichever bottle is almost empty is the spirit you get. Anyway Mrs Bonio certainly enjoyed several.......
Onion or bomb ??

Very close to the Pentagonal Tower, I have carefully looked this artistic object on every angle, though it has no angles, but I have been unable to determine what it was supposed to represent or what it meant. Any idea ?

In all Istra - number one activity is chasing the most beautiful girls in the world!!! When you get tired (or better if you do) ... in Pula, you must see 'Arena' amazing monument from Roman Empire times. Today classical and pop concerts are held in the amphitheatre and if you are lucky enough you might catch one. I was, and I saw biggest legend of Croatian and Ex Yugoslavian pop music - Oliver Dragojevic in Arena. In Porec, there is all kind of summer activities going on, Bungie jumping, water skiing, paragliding, even horseback riding.
Euphrasius Basilica is the most valuable, oldest, and beautiful monument in Porec. It was build in VI century. It is actually smaller that many other churches of that kind in the area, but it is the most precious one because it kept its original structure until today. It was acknowledged by UNESCO organisation in the year 1997.
