This hotel was a breath of fresh air when compared with another noisy hostelry nearby. It had friendly service, modern facilities, good location and our room was large with A/C.
Front rooms have a sea view and the restaurant was tops.
This was one of the cleanest places I've ever been to. The room and the bathroom were both quite big, we had our own fridge and a stove. The location wasn't too bad, but wasn't too great either. The nearest beach is 20 minutes (of walking) away, and city center is 10-15 minutes away by bus. The beaches in Pula aren't the nicest ones, but you can still swim there. The owner will be more than happy to tell you how to get to few of them or where to find a bus stop which is about 300m away and it goes every 20 min during summer months till around 22.40. Taxi would cost you approx 50 kn (that's around 7 euro). There is a shop which is open till 9 every day (including Sundays) around the corner. A quiet and safe neighbourhood.
The Hostel is a large 3 storey house. The family who own the house live on the first floor, whilst the ground and second floor are rented out. I am pretty sure the ground floor was being rented by a family. The second floor has 3/4 double rooms, kitchen facilities and bathroom with a large landing area. The two front rooms have huge balconies and the back rooms have huge windows.
Great - right next to the beach, a pebble beach but the water was blue and clean - one of us was brave enough to swim - it wasnt quite that warm enough really but shes water mad!
The place was clean and staff pleasant.
as above, the price was low enough for us on a budget and there was safe enclosed parking for our car. we found our way there easily enough and the staff spoke english. breakfast included. and alcohol - for "enjoying a beer on the beach" was permitted.
One of my best trip memories is this !
Pula YH is located outskirts of the town ..by coach easily to get there and for the bus stop call to the driver or any backpacker ..
What can i say with a private strand in front of the cottage. nice staff, quite cheap, breakfast included...an amzing spot!!
No 4 De Franceshjeva Ulica - an old croatian women rents out rooms for 90kn(£9). They have a balcony, and you can have use of shower, tv, kitchen. its about a 70kn cab ride out of town, near the youth hostel, or you can get a bus. the youth hostel can arrange for you to stay here if you ask them.
The YHA hostel is set in a nice bay with clear waters. you can get there by bus or by cab, a dorm is 90kn, they also have camping. there is a bar and restaurant here.
This hostel is located in the midst of lush vegitation, not far from a german diving school where scuba equipment can be rented for use in the cove. It's adequate on the inside; the surroundings are what's important! Breakfast is included, and the price is right, anout $10 per night.
The hostel also offers camping.
The hostel is located on the inside of a cove on its own private white pebble beach on the Adriatic. It's gorgeous there.
I was walking around town and ran into a lady who had a spare bedroom. I asked her if I could stay and I was in. Accomodation is really expensive in Pula, so beware.
Valkanela is a camp site located between Funtana and Vrsar ( about 10 min. from Porec). This campground is accessible from everywhere and sorrounded by the two towns that are packed with restaurants and interesting parties every night.
The camp has a nice beach and is very lively compared to the other camps. There is live music here and parties tend to continue on in Club Margerita which is very close. You can rent mopeds, bikes and also go horseback riding very close.
Right accross the road from the camp, locals are selling fresh fruit, wine, honey and corn...so you can just run out and have a blast !!
Your best bet is to rent an apartment privately. You will get the best service and most of them are very close to the beach (especially in Vrsar).
You can visit www.bovi.hr to get more info on what the costs are, distances to the beach, location and size of rooms/apartments.
If you are heading down in late July or August, make sure you book your accommodation in advance as it can get pretty crazy with availability

Youth hostel is located on the outskirts of town, in one of the numerous coves around Pula. It is well connected with the center of the town, just take the local bus to Verudela.
You wont find many hostels situated right on the sea-shore and having it's own beach. It is in the pieceful area and yet, in a walking distance from the nightlife spots.
There are 6B or 8B accomodations and the price is 15-17 euros.
