Landscapes

Its not much I can say here, pictures really tell everything. Rovinj has always been one of my favorite istrian and adriatic places and I have always been returning there since my chilhood years. The city itself has a special, unique structure and no matter from which side you approach, you will always be stunned by the view to the historical old city downtown, dominated by the St.Eufemia's church. But, nearby Rovinj there are few bigger and smaller islands, accessible by local boat charters, which I strongly recommend you visit when you are there. Most of the islands offer excellent beach resorts so have that in mind when planning your vaccation.
No cars in the town
by Thoomuch
You are not allowed to take the car in to the citycenter. You have to park it just before at a big parkingplace in the harbour. This is very good, especially for people with children. Because you can walk around and relax without that you have to have cars stressing you..... The old town is so charming, The beaches and the water.
Also the food was terrific. We did ate a lot of seafood; try mussels as starters (boiled in garlic, wine and lemon) fantastic!!
Also pasta with truffelmushromm is a must!
Kanuba (grilled meat), pizza, fishsoap, prcut ham, riceotta and the icecream was good.
Balcony with lions
by JLBG
A carved balcony with lion heads overhangs on Vladimira Svalbo Ulica. It is another reminder that Rovinj has for long been a part of Republic of Venice . Many others such reminders are scattered in the old town.
Vladimira Svalbo street, continuing

And Vladimira Svalbo Ulica goes on again, for a moment again, we forget the sea, back into the very heart of the town, among the old Venetian stones. I am sure that even when a storm is blowing on the Adriatic a few meters away, Vladimira Svalbo Ulica remains an oasis of "inlandness" !
From the campanile, northwards
by JLBG
View from Campanile towards the North. Trg Valdibora and the huge monument appear on the right. A little in the background, the closest parking lot (always full) to the old city. Another (half hidden) is a little further.
