Peaceful quiet location, good value

This hotel is set in its own park and woodland, about 25 mins walk south along coastal path from Rovinj old town, or 20 minutes walk along road to the front of the Hotel. We stayed here on package deal with Thompson/Portland end Sept 2009 and enjoyed it a lot.

Hotel does cater for tour groups and individuals, has over 300 rooms, and for the individual guest there are high quality rooms and suites with their own garden balcony on the top floor - at a price!

Our room was spacious clean and comfortable, and overlooked the gardens down to the swimming pool and bay. There is Air Conditioning, though not the best I have seen.

Breakfast and evening meal is served in typical Croatian Hotel buffet style. Breakfast included cereals, muesli, yoghurts, cold meats and cheeses, fruit, tea or coffee, hot bacon tomatoes, sausages and scrambled eggs, or fresh fried eggs cooked for you. Plenty of choice! Evening meal usually consisted of three meat courses, pork chicken or beef, fish - usually trout, pasta, maybe a risotto, chips, potatoes mashed or boiled, green vegetables (generally mixed of frozen source) also full salad buffet, with cold meats and cheeses, also a dessert buffet with fruits, cakes and pastries, flans and ice cream. Always plenty of choice, and good if not outstanding quality. Local wine and beer available. Beer was HRK22 a bottle, wine by glass carafe or bottle.

Unique Quality: Very peaceful pleasant surroundings in own parkland, yet easy walk into the Marina and old town. Polite friendly staff who all spoke some English. Excellent pool in the grounds (with its own restaurant) also childrens pool. Plenty sun loungers in sun or shade. At bottom of grounds, to the left a small bay with several rocky areas for sun bathing and also shingle beaches along the coast, very relaxing, and good swimming in the sheltered bay. Lovely sunsets from the bay too. Note - there are NO sand beaches in this area, shingle or rock, but easy swimming from the coast. Bike hire available in hotel grounds too.
Rovinj itself is a beautiful old town, and you can happily spend many hours just exploring the old town, relaxing in a cafe or bar, exploring the narrow streets and just soaking up the atmosphere. There is no "club or night life" as such, just the bars and cafes that are peaceful and relaxing, just what I like! And cheaper prices than much of Europe now.
