small city Umag is known (i suspect not in wide circles..:) for tennis courts, there are many, mostly located close to big hotels and there is even small stadium nearby, where some tennis tournaments take place, the most famous is Croatia Open Umag, one of ATP tournaments
The little town of Umag is the northest town in Croatia, just 12 km from the slovenian border and some 40 km from the town of Trieste in Italy (because slovenian seaside is small).
From the old part of town you pass by marina and then you continue through Stella maris and Cottoro along teh sea cost. It's very lively during the summer. Lots of pine trees are around, hotels between them, real summer atmosphere. In the winter it's calm except the days with the famous BURA wind.
Umago is italian name for Umag. The mixture of italian and slavic cultures is obvious and very pleasent.
