If you're lucky you'll see a Bjeloglavi sup,
protected birds that are nesting on the nearby island of Cres.
Bjeloglavi sup is a vulture, with wings up to 2 meters.

The main beach, Baska's Vela Plaza is right in the centre of town and is surrounded by bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels and private apartments. This beach is a natural pebble beach, 1800m long, which can take several thousand swimmers with ease. It's particularly suitable for children and non-swimmers. A Blue Flag was awarded to the beach in 1999. On the beach you can hire pedal boats, windsurfers, parasols and deckchairs.
