Great cliffs at the sea
When you pass trough the FKK camp to the wild beaches on the south from Baska, you will see wonderful rock for climbing. Don't miss it if you are into this sport or if you are just beginner, there are few ways very easy to climb on, but also other quite hard. You will have to take all the equipment for yourself
Baška is a major tourist place on the island of Krk, situated on the south side of the island.
I visit Baška for years. From my home town of Rijeka to Baška an hour of driving by car is needed. Some of my relatives also live in Baška so I always stay there for a few days ..
Almost two kilometers long "The Great Beach" is the main attraction of Baška.
There are also several small beaches. Near each one there is a bar or the restaurant so when you get tired of swimming and resting on the beach,
you can refresh yourself with a cold drink, ice cream, etc.
I prefer Baška in June or September, months when there are not many tourists.
The air temperature is around 25 C degrees and the sea temperature ranges around 22 C degrees, although at night the air is a little fresher.
In the spring or early autumn, usually I ride a bike or walk the many trails around Baška.
From the center towards the surrounding hills takes fifteen marked hiking trails, lengths from 2 to 10 km.
Of course, the most beautiful view to the town is from the highest hills, but if you do not have the will for a long walk rise up, the cemetery is worth a visit.
Within the cemetery is the church of St. John, whose yellow bell tower rises from the top of the hill.
Approaching the graveyard you will find the remains of the old town of Baška, destroyed in the 12th century.
Since that time the population begins to build houses closer to the sea, where today Baška stands.
Beside the long beach Baška is known for "Baška tablet," the oldest written document in Croatia, which dates from the 12th century.
Reproduction of "Baška Tablet" is exhibited in a museum in Jurandvor, a place not far from Baška until the original is kept in Zagreb.
When it comes to night life in Baška you can only walk the promenade about 4 km long, eating in restorants or drinking in bars that don't work till late night.
Baška offers different types of accommodations. The hotels of which is the largest "Corintia" within which is recently opened a wellness center,
private accommodation and two auto-camps, one of which is nudist.
For those who love a little more extreme activities in the area there are two walls for free-climbing.

Baska- Island of Krk
"Where the beach seems to stretch forever..."
I've been coming to Baska, the southernmost town of Krk for about 5 years now visiting family friends, and each time encloses those moments which stay with you throughout the whole year. Beautiful sea, caffe bars, people 24 hours a day are only a few of the perks. Swimming while looking at the mountains above be especially stuck in my mind...
