Bijar: camp near Osor

It's middle sized campground here with some really good spots for tents and enough privacy to set your little area as you wish. We camped here a few nights, it was high season so it was the cheapest option. Nearest town is Osor and among camps we checked in the vicinity of town this is the best one. Few other are across canal at Losšinj but they don't have that good shade.

It has two sanitary blocks one next to another, both can get relatively crowded at certain hours of day and it takes bit walking if you stay in areas not centrally located. Best to figure our when people wake up and get there early or later, also avoid washing during normal lunch hours and dinners.
The beach is of more and less rocks and some smaller coves with pebble and it's not the most shaded one during the mid day because it's on Southern side of an island. It's also little difficult to get into water at less crowded spots plus there are enough sea urchins, too. It makes no sense to walk far from the camp because as you walk further along the coast, there are some cliffs and it's even more difficult to get to water there and with less shade at these spots. Well, we like shade. Pine trees in the camp are gorgeous to say the least.
If you come by car: you need to get in by 11 pm if you want to bring car to your site, the gates get closed and you're supposed to be quiet then.

The camp won prizes for its ecology friendly standards and they use reed bed sewage treatment system for wastewater, which is very good I believe.

camp in Valun: small camp on dynamic terrain

This is small camp and it's just behind Valun village, accessible only on foot or bike. Cars have to be parked outside camping area on a parking site by hilly road in the village.
At time of our late visit there was nobody at reception and everywhere was full, all places taken so we didn't stay but somewhat it looked nice with plenty of shade in forest on upper terraces.

It's next to small beach in a calm gulf and only a few minutes walk to Valun village. You've got interesting terrain - on a slope with some steep places, with few intimate small areas on a narrow terraces to pitch single tent at it. It promises good relation with environment and nice views. Only the lowest part has more place 8and less shade), but not more than one tent in row, nevertheless.
Beach is lovely with pebbles and Valun itself is pleasant village with few attractions. Could be good option for those who like to stay in motor-free area, but then again, it's challenging to find Valun without having your own transport.

In Veli Losinj we stayed at a pension (bed&breakfast) just next to the water. Very nice and clean place. Rooms were 20 US$ per person.
