The Port
by croisbeauty
The small port of Novi Vinodolski where I used fishing and sometimes swiming. Although it is a port, the water is clear and there was a lot of fish there.
The most interesting event from the past was the arriving of the line-ship, everybody used to come into the port watching who is arriving and who departing the town. When you live in such a small coastal place, everything depends of the sea. It is the first thing you look at in the morning, and the last thing you see before going to sleep. The sea-water can tell you everything you need, should it be nice sunny day or not, should you stay at home or going out, should you have plenty of food on your table..., and many more.
Mediterranean city structure
by croisbeauty
Novi Vinodolski is, by its structure, a very typical coastal Mediterranean town. Its old core is raised on a small hill above the sea-shore with the church and main square in the central position. A short and narrow streets twist towards the harbour which was, in the past times, the only connection to the other places along Adriatic.
The Stone house
by croisbeauty
The stone offers best possible protection against the severe winter season wind called "bura". This strong wind riches over 150 km and is very cold. During the days of "bura", local people stays at their home going out only if neccesary.
Crkva Svetog Trojstva
by croisbeauty
A small stone-made chapel of the Holy Trinity is situated in the old part of the town. It is the oldest church in the area of Novi Vinodolski and its surroundings. The church is simple one nave construction with altar and tiny baptistery.
The pink rocks
by croisbeauty
To those who prefer rocks instead of Kupalnica sand, I suggest this interesting coloured roks next to the Kupalnica. The colour of the stone, which is natural so, looks spectacular in the bright sunny day right after the rain.
