Private accommodation Katarina: Great private accommodation in Opatija

Villa Katarina is surrounded by a lovely green and well kept garden with table, chairs and a grill. The villa is only 150 meters from the sea and approximately 300 meters from the grocery store and green market. Two apartments on the first floor and are thoughtfully decorated to provide a comfortable stay for the guests. Each apartment has a reserved parking space in the vicinity of the villa. Owners speak English, German and Croatian. Since the villa is located in the center of Opatija, restaurants and different sport activities are not far. This lovely decorated apartment is located on the first floor and offers accommodation sufficient for 4 persons. It is composed of 1 bedroom with double bed and a living room with kitchen with a pull-out sofa for 2 persons. Apartment has a view of the sea and the lovely garden in front of the house from the terrace/balcony. It is equipped with air-conditioner, satellite TV, stove, refrigerator and all necessary dishes.
Villa Katarina, a beautiful villa with a spacious courtyard surrounded by a pleasant garden. The beach is 150m away and the nearest beach is a beach for children Tomaševac. Cetiri Opatijska Cvijeta (Four Flowers of Opatija): An excellent four-star hotel

An excellent four-star hotel, with a spacious lobby, bright and airy restaurant, superb views from its terraces and comfortable rooms. The rooms that do not have the sea view are equally nice, as they are oriented towards lush gardens and beautiful old villas. The hotel consists of four thoroughly renovated mansions. I would recommend Kamelia- the main hotel building with the reception in it. It has the best location, next to the sea and a pleasant promenade. You can get to the city center and the main town beach by strolling through one of the most beautiful parks in Europe (it has got a special award) and it takes only 10 minutes. If you decide to take a stroll in another direction, you will reach a small kids` beach in 10 minutes as well. The hotel is suitable for families with children, although it does not have a special kids` club or a playground. If you have a pram, insist on the accommodation in the main building, because the other buildings have a combination of stairs and lifts. Staff is very friendly and they speak all major European languages. Food is excellent , though not much varied.

Excellent location, wonderful terraces and views...and a wonderful scent pervading all the corridors:)

Hotel Milenij: A gem of the city center

A five-star hotel offering very friendly and professional service. It has all the facilities expected in a luxury hotel. The only minus is there are hardly any balconies so you may have problem with finding a place to dry your wet towels as you cannot adjust the level of ventilation in your bathroom- a seemingly small disadvantage but can be a nuisance if you must handle the problem every single day. On the other hand the food is superb, very good quality although it is not extremely varied.

Unique characteristic of this place is its location in the center of Opatija, next to the town beach. Its garden is simply superb with colourful flowers an impeccable lawns and shrubs- a wonderful sight accompanied with the great view of the sea from the pool terrace. A wonderful sweet shop in the very hotel is famous and worth its reputation. Ice cream and hand-made chocolates are a must!

Hotel Villa Vranjes, Opatija: Exclusive price, a good place to be...

I staid in this hotel for a couple of days. It's wonderful place to be in the peaceful area of Opatija, always with the fresh breeze. Its a bit up in the hills so you can enjoy the wonderful view of the whole Bay of Kvarner and the nature surrounding the hotel. Its nice to have a couple of drinks on the restaurant's terrace. Also hotel has the pool and the tennis field. I got the room on the top floor with air condition and the balcony on the sea side. For the price I think its the best choice in Opatija.

Grandhotel Kvarner: Luxury at the top in the oldest grandhotel

This is the oldest and grandest of the hotels in Opatia. It is not the most luxury hotel anymore - nowadays this is hotel Mozart - but the atmosphere of this grand hotel can't be beaten. Check out the swimmingpools and the wonderful private rocky beach on the back side of the hotel.

Putnicka Agencija ' Matulji Tours': Private accomodation in Matulji

If you like to stay in private accomodation and you're looking for a cheap place to stay, this address is perfect. Hotels in Opatia as well as in Rijeka are expensive and even private accomodation is not cheap in both towns if you compare it to other - much nices - places in the region. So if you don't need to stay in the center, you better find an accomodation in a village in the neighbourhood. Matulji is such a little village just in-between Rijeka and Opatia, very easy to reach by train, bus or car. Very good and quiet accomodations can be found here, because the area is a sprawl of villas and big family houses in a green setting.

As soon as we dropped in, the man made several phonecalls to some folks who rent a room in their house. After we made a reservation, the owner of the house picked us up from the tourist agency and brought us by car to the house. It can't be easier. The place where we stayed has a beautiful view on the Kvarner bay and is on walking distance to the sea. Distances to Volosko, Opatia and Rijeka are very close and a city bus stops frequently. Price: 20 EUR / 140 Kuna for 2 persons including breakfast.
