Autokamp Borje: almost 5 star autocamp
If you're planning on camping and arrive by car, autocamp Borje could be very good option, though it's about 15 km South from the entry to the park itself, and by the main regional road towards Dalmatia.
Note that it can be a little cool if you're not travelling during summer - this is forested area on highlands, so different temperature/weather conditions apply than by the seaside or in the plains and som warm clothes could be needed (from September-early June in general, though it depends on year).
Unique Quality: At time of our stay (late September 2010) there were few guests on the ground and a lot of locations to pitch the tent or park camper van. In generaly it's lovely place with lots of shade, especially of pines, which is very good in summer when heat could be otherwise hard to bear. This is also great for the air quality. Capacity is 350 persons on 6,5 hectares of land.
It is recently opened camp site (since 2007) and has excellent shared toilets and bathrooms built with energy saving standards. The sanitary building is spacious, airy and very clean and the constructions itself tries to merge well with environment and has a lot of wood as a construction material (see photo 2 and 3).
Paths are well organized and easy to navigate, though if in peak season there can be little crowded, but that's normal then. It has children playground on the site.
Staff is helpful and friendly, they may give you information about visiting NP.
Nice food can be eaten from their restaurant - local, international, self served (cheaper) or like in usual restaurant - depends on you. If you haven't yet, try their local cheeses here, they're really nice. There's also small shop, but for greater choice of stuff go to Korenica town near.
A bus service to park (managed by NP office) leaves from the restaurant, but you may also catch a local bus to the entry to the park by the main regional road - take any bus into Karlovac or Zagreb direction - if you don't want to go (or can't go) by your car.
Nearest bigger town is Korenica and it is about 2 km South of camp and there are few ATMs, banks, restaurants, pharmacies and shops/supermarkets. Here you can supply yourself with most things needed for your trip.
Price is paid in kuna. Or by CC. Our price in September 2010 (main season) was: 67 KN/person per night, city tax was 3,5 KN per person, 22 KN per tent and 15 KN for a car.
Updated information on prices are from parks web site:

Hotel Jezero: Best location
Under construction.
LOCATION:
Great location, inside the park, only 100 meters from the park entrance where the admission ticket window and bus station are. The boat Port 1 is about 200+ steps down.
ACCESS:
The park is not easily accessible without a car. One can, however, try to take bus to get here.
RECEPTION:
The hotel staff were friendly. The lobby was dark in the evening. Often there are people smoking there. :(
ROOM:
Our room, as we requested, is on the top floor. The balcony has a view of the green woods and the mountain afar, but no waterfall in sight despite their roaring or soothing sound.
The room does not have a safe. We think the national park is a rather safe place.
BATHROOM:
It has a bathtub and shower combined unit, the shower head height can be adjusted but not the angle, so the water coming out straight horizontally – which makes it challenging not to wet the floor. It also has limited room for laying out stuff.
BREAKFAST/Buffet (included in the room rate):
Has limited selection of food. Besides bread (unappealing), jams, coffee/orange juice, cheese, corn flakes/cereal, it also has scrambled egg and little frankies.
The huge dinning room can have several hundreds of people having meals at the same time, but it designed well acoustically, i.e., not noisy at all.
DINNER
Only tourist group people have their one set meal. Others are on a la carte. We had stuffed troute (you can see trout from the waters in the park) and grilled other fish with vegetables, all very good.
Tables for small group of people, 1-4, are lined up together with a dividing segment between any two tables. We always sat the small table next to the door to outside, so that we could eat and enjoyed the view.
There are not many choices with respect to having a good dinner. We tried the Hotel Plitvice next door next evening.
INTERNET:
When we were there, the (free) wireless internet access was not possible from room, but only in the lobby.
Unique Quality: Location. No other hotel/accommodation is closer to park entrance than it.

Guesthouse: Local Houses
I stayed in a local house just near by a very very clean river after i visit Plitvicka National Park. You can find lots of local houses for rent in this lovely area. The fee is 15EU including breakfast.
Unique Quality: All local houses for rent, are in a very green area in the forests of Plitvicka National Park. some of them are very close to the park and some of them are not. But i am sure you can find a very nice place to spend the night or two.
The place i stayed is a very small village ( only 10 houses ) located aroud a very clean river that you can swim... and 100 meters away from house was a small waterfall with a small lake... what can i want more:))))

B&B Krizmanic Family - Rastovaca-Plitvice: Plitvice lakes accomodation
We were allready staying at this property some times ago and it was excellente choice for us and the National Park wqas wonderful, so we decided to come again to see the Park in a diferent time of the year.
This time we were not staying in the bungalow since it was allready occuppied, we were staying in one of the apartment and in one of the rooms. Everything was completely new, with all neccessary things inside (kitchen, livingroom, SAT-TV, massagge bath tube) and the hosts were kinde and helpful all the time, specialy Ivana. She was talking to us and explained some new paths to see arround the lakes.
We were group of 5 people together and there was also group of 4 american people at the same time, and it was so nice to see how she can menage so switch from one language to another.
Breakfast was more than good, it was wonderful with marmelade, butter, hony, eggs, chees, saleme, fruite, cornflakes, mussli, pate, tee, coffee, milch, juice...
I needed to use internet for a while, and she lett me use her computer with no charge of wathever.
There were making schnaps of the plumps so we enjoyd seeing that too.
So, I would definitly recomment this accomodation to everybody searching for a nice and warm place to stay.
Unique Quality: House is sorrounded by a big groundyard, there is also childrenplayground, and view is on hils and forest.
It is very quiete and peaceful village, and it is on just 5 minutes walking distance from the Entrance No.1 to the Park.

Various: Pensions around Plitvice
As you have only 2 options for hotel near the park, budget travellers would prefer pensions or guesthouses in vicinity which also provide convenient accomodation with reasonable prices. Just pass the main entrance of the park and continue following the main road. After a while, you will see boards or notices with "Szoba" , "Frei Zimmer" or similar. All of these guesthouses in the area are managed by local families. However in high season, it is not easy to find a single room even in these pensions.

Apartments Plitvicer Seen: A nice house for a night near Plitvice
I found this house on a German speaking website and as I like Scandinavian style houses I had to book it when we were searching for a place to stay near Plitvice National Park. It was a great choice! I really enjoyed my time and slept like a stone here! And the next morning I was woken up by the sound of a rooster living next door - things that feel special to big city girls like me ;)
The house is located in Grabovec which is just off the main road from Karlovac to Plitvice. From there to the national park it's a 10 minute drive so it's a good location if you want to spend a day in the national park.
The house is very new with nice and bright furniture and beautiful warm colours. From all rooms we saw during the holiday this easily was the nicest one. Upstairs from the double rooms there's a holiday apartment for up to five people with a beautiful terrace.
Unique Quality: What I enjoyed most about this place was the picnic bench & table outside on the terrace. It was lovely to sit there in the middle of wide open lowlands with only the main road and the coocoo disturbing. My favourite place for writing postcards or reading in the evening!
Breakfast isn't included in the price but you can get it for 5 EUR. We chose to have it. It isn't served in the house but in one a hundred metres up the road. The woman who welcomed us to the blue house also makes the breakfast. She speaks English, not very fluently but enough to communicate. I guess the owners of the house live in Germany, so she runs the place.
We paid 32 EUR (240 kn) for one night in May 2007.

Hotels near National Park: Hotels
There are a couple of hotels that are placed practicly on the entrance of the National Park.
The names of hotels are Jezero***, Plitvice** , Bellevue** and Grabovac ***. There is also a Campsite Korana 6 kilometres from the park with the bungalows you can rent. In a near by places you can find a plenty of private houses where you can also stay. Maybe is this the least expensive way, but we didn't use it. We stayed in hotel named Jezero. The room was clean, it had a double bed, tv and an aircondition. The price was about 700 kn, it is about 90 Euro for a night with a breakfast for 2 persones. For a breakfast there was a buffet. It had really everything, from cornflakes till fruits.
In a hotel there was also a la carte restaurant. The prices and offer were solid. And the food tasted fine.
