When we arrived to the town of Rab, we thought that it would be easy to get a room, if we just went to some of the many houses advertising with beds. We soon learned that it wasn't that easy. Most houses uses an agency to rent out the rooms, and most of them prefer to rent out for a whole week, and not 4 days as we requested. So after half an hour af walking around in the heat with our backpacks, we went back into the center of the town. Here we found an agency (katurbo), that put us in contact with a lady who had a room for rent in her house.
The name of the little guesthouse is Pahljina Milica i Stipe, and there is about five rooms in the house. We got a very nice room, with private bathroom, a nice bed and a great balcony. There was also a shared kitchen, that we didn't use for anything else, but to store water. The price pr. person was 12 euro, which we found very fair. The guesthouse is located just outside the center and the beach. Hotel Imperial renovated its rooms. 3 stars. The quality is now better. Island still does not have a good 4 or 5 star hotel. Good and cheaper alternative to hotels is private apartmant; see www.kristofor.hr
