Dvorac Marchi: Mediterannean luxury

Just visited, didn't stay.

Unique Quality: This is a `dvorac' a fortified house, converted into a palace in the 18th century. It belonged to the aristocratic Marchi family that governed ythe island of Solta. Now it is a very luxurious place to stay: I asked this summer (2008) and prices start at 500 euros. Apparently there is a great demand even at this price, because you can;t just turn up -- you have to book at least two weeks in advance.
