Atlas Travel: If you haven't already booked ahead in Komiza....

If you haven't booked a room before arriving in Komiza, you should still be able to find a room without much problem. I was there in the height of tourist season in mid-august and we had a room within 5 minutes. If you don't get approaced by someone as soon as you step off the bus from Vis town, go about 50 steps to your left towards the center of the village and to your right you will see a fruit stand, a small market and a tourist office. In the tourist office just tell them what kind of accommodation you are looking for and they will fix you up in no time. I think we paid 30 euros for our room per night. It wasn't right on the beach, but it was only a 3 minute walk to all the cafes and shops. :) We rented from a man who rents out the rooms in the top floor of his home. There were 4 rooms and we shared the bathroom, but there was only one other room filled at the time, so it was never a problem. We had a nice big balcony as well.

Unique Quality: Just a 2-3 miinute walk to all the cafes, shops, etc. It was very convenient and simple but exactly what we needed. After all, you're not going on vacation to hang out in your room are you??
