clubs, fleamarkets, cheap hotels in december?
Hello everybody!
My girlfriend and me we are flying to Zagreb for a weekend from 9th to 11th of december.
We wonder if there´s a good club scene around with electronic music like house, techno and elektro. Doesn´t matter if it´s a straight club or a gay. What are common prices for entrance fees? What time do people usually get there?
And of course beside little culture we wanna go to a fleamarket, but we´re flying out at noon on sunday. so maybe there´s also a saturday-fleamarket taking place?
And almost finally: we were astonished by the high hotelprizes and actually don´t wanna spend our little budget just on accommodation. so who´s got any alternative ideas or just tips for cheap (clean) hotels in or around Zagreb city center?
Last question: Are the local public transport systems (busses, trams...) running during day AND night?
It´d be great to get some informations,

Hi there,
I'll try to give you some basic information on your questions.

As per clubs, I have found something that might be interesting for you:

As for the entrance fees, they are less then 10 euros for most clubs I know. The price may varie, when some special guest is comming or something like that.
As for getting there it depends but I think that you can come at 23:00 without any problem and in time you get a drink and check what's going on it will start to fill with people.
Public transportation is running also during the night, but it's not that frequent and the time of trams should be available on any stop, together with map of tram network.
I would reccomend you to, once you come out your plain and wait for the luggage, tale one of these printed small guides on Zagreb, so just to be informed briefly.

Two largest flea markets (Hrelic and Britanski trg) happen only on Sundays. On Saturday Dec 10th there is a "antiques fair" taking place in Pucko Otvoreno Uciliste at Ulica Grada Vukovara 68, open from 9 till 3pm.
For cheaper hotels try Hotel Ilica in Ilica, Hotel Dora in Ulica Grada Vukovara or Hotel Fala - you'll find contact details at Zagreb tourist web page.
Trams run at night as well, but they change numbers and routes after approx. 23.30 so make sure you study the map of night tram lines properly.
