before i became a cheapskate and stayed with VTer polardabar, i used to always stay at the hotel dubrovnik. this hotel is ideal to explore zagreb, as it is located right on the doorstep of the main square, trg ban jelacic.
the rooms are quite simple, but do the job. breakfast is included in the price, and its quite a decent breakfast at that. the usual amenities of soaps/shampoos can be found in the bathrooms, and there is a tv in the room as well, which as cable tv for those who need their cnn fix. the staff have always been very friendly and helpful, including the time my little brother left his teddybear behind, and my mother had to ring from australia and ask them to hold it for me to collect on my way home from london! hahaha.
another thing i like about this hotel is that in its complex there is a subway restaurant, so i can still get my yummy fresh sandwiches just like i do at home. subway, eat fresh! ;-)
i would definitely recommend this hotel if you are coming to zagreb.

This hotel is where we landed the morning after the Hotel Ilica night. Obviously it is in a different league, both in comfort and price. If you can afford its rates, it is highly recommended clean, friendly, ideally placed on Trg Josip Jelacica, good buffet breakfasts, modern bathroom, MTV on the television. We spent five very happy nights here, one watching a thunder storm directly overhead and torrential driving rain scattering the crowds in the square. Only one negative point poor quality, possibly ersatz coffee at breakfast. Theme: HotelComparison: more expensive than average
