Overall, the hotel looks great. The building dates back to the late 19th century and they've done a bit to maintain the charm of that, but for the most part, it has ended up looking like just about any other hotel, minus the glass windows in the dining area.
There are certainly some cheaper places to stay in Zagreb, even though I got a price break at $108 US per night for a single. It was vastly overpriced though. While there was nothing bad about it like being unclean, for the price, there was nothing to justify it costing that much. The breakfast service isn't very amazing and I've had better at cheaper places. There is very little selection on the television. The hotel staff at the front desk are pretty much downright rude.
Some other things that made me nuts were that when I was staying there, they were doing construction on what seemed to be the entire second floor. This started right at 7AM and continued through to about 18PM. It was loud, really loud and when I mentioned it to the staff, they just shrugged. On top of that, my room was right above an incredibly noises exhaust vent that woke me up throughout the night.
I give it a thumbs down. Stay somewhere else when in Zagreb and maybe this place will get the message they're not all that.
There is nothing particularly interesting about it other than the age of building and the square that it is on is quite nice in Spring, as well as being very close to Glavni Kolodvor, the main Zagreb train station. Leave a Comment
