More about Electra Holiday Village
Excellent value for money!!
Well what can i say . . . we had a brill time!
We booked our 1 week stay to the Electra Village Hotel a week before we were due to go. We decided to go for just a quick week where we knew there wolud be guranteed sun.
Me and my boyfriend had been to Cyprus before but never to Ayia Napa so we thought we would give it a whirl. Ayai Napa itself was nothing what i expected - i had gone with a vision that it would be all drunken young people. There was a nice mix of all age ranges and we never saw one bit of trouble.
Electra Village was in the best possible location with its seafront views and it was also near to the main road where the bars and resatuants started. The accomadation itself was excellent and very clean - couldn't fault it one bit!!
The food was also okay. There was plenty of selection for example one night there was a continental buffet the next a BBQ another and so on.
Definantly would go back!!!
Would never stay again
I stayed at the Electra Village with my partner and daughter! As as soon as I walked In a thought I had arrived at a youth hostel. There was several drunken teenagers (well underage) drunk in the lobby area. The pool is the best thing about this accommodation. The apartments were very standard but liveable. The staff were extremely unfriendly and never smiled. This place is great for all inclusive if you just want tp drink from 10am in the morning til 12am at night. We were self catering and the first time and only time I went to the bar, the coke was warm and the vodka was well and truly watered down. Despite the brochure saying there was two bars. There was only one. We met a few couples who were all inclusive and they ended up going out to eat and drink because they couldnt cope with the food and drink that Electra served up. They ran out of ice for four days. The pool side was not cleaned for 1 week and half and my daughter came home with an ear infection from the pool.
OK, But wouldn't stay there again
We came back from Cyprus last week, and stayed at the Electra Village. The location of the hotel is good, and I suppose it's good if you stay there All Inclusive, but we stayed Self Catering.
A few points I wasn't happy with, the main one being the Air Conditioning in our appartment did not work correctly. The only bit of breeze you could feel was if you stood right under it. On a night we had to position out beds so we were right under the vents, but my husband had to resort to sleeping on the balcony. We complained to reception 3 times, and they did send someone out to "fix" it, but whatever they did din't make a blind bit of difference. We asked if they had any fans we could hire, but they said no.
I also found that because we weren't All Inclusive, the drinks were REALLY expensive. We ordered 2 bottles of Strongbow, and a small bottle of water from the bar and it cost us the equivalent to £8 in English money.
Also, I'm not one to just sit by the pool, but it's a good job. You couldn't just relax with a good book because they had music blasting out all day long, then there was the silly pool games - water polo and volley ball. This meant if you wanted to cool off and go for a swim you couldn't until these had finished. They played volley ball in smaller pool seperate from the main pool, but the water polo was played in the main pool, very annoying.
Returned 29/07/07 having spent 2 weeks all inclusive. We had 2 studio's with sea views situated above the restaurant. The rooms are very large with excellent air conditioning, fridge and seating are. These rooms do have a problem with pigeons but as we were all inclusive we were rarely in them, so it was not a problem. The all inclusive is excellent value with a good choice of food and drinks all day until midnight. I cannot understand why anyone complained about the music during the day as we found it ok. The games played during the day in the pool do not cause any disruption to anyone as the pool is very large. Alex and Tina the entertainment team do a very good job and the entertainment is what you would expect on holiday. Although we don't have small children we saw the chidrens disco most nights, all i can say is if it wasn't for Zoe it would have been hopeless. The 2 other childrens reps were terrible and had no interest in the kids at all.
Ayia Napa is very lively at night but there are some quieter bars with reasonable prices. Although every bar has someone outside enticing you in with various offers be aware sometimes it can be a ripoff.
All in all i would recommend Electra Village to anyone, good food, good accomodation and very good location.
We have just come back from the Electra Village, we booked the holiday for the little one who is 7 and I have to say it is a great place for small children. The kids club was very well organised and the kids reps were great - they had different activites throughout the day for the kids to keep them entertained and even took them out one night to PIzza Hut! We booked the little boy into swimming lessons - half an hour each day for about £20 - this was great! He came home being able to swim 10meteres and recieved a certificate and goodie bag!
The hotel is in a great location - right on the beach ( bit rocky but the watersports are good!) You have a few bars and restaurants on the doorstep and Ayia Napa town centre is only about 3 mins in a taxi costing around £4 cypriot pound!
The only floor about the hotel is the selection of food for breakfast and the evening meal. There was lack of variety and only a small selection for the kids. The lunch menu was great! It had everything on there that you could think of - from spag bol to pitta breads! You could get these snacks upto 11pm but make sure you order them before 11pm cos they wont serve you!!
Overall - great place for the kids - I would reccomend that they come up with a new evening entertainment programme - bingo can get a bit tedious everynight!! If you are taking the kids defo go there - I wouldnt recommend this for couples or singles looking for a lively holiday!
FANTASTIC WHAT MORE CAN I SAY
We have just returned home from a weeks stay at this hotel and wish we could have stayed longer. We are 2 families of 2 adults and 2 children so 8 of us in total and had a fantastic time. The weather was superb very hot indeed and not a cloud in the sky every day. We stayed all inclusive and everything was included even cocktails from the bar. The food was excellent a wide and varied choice everyday even for the children. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The first choice childrens reps were brilliant and kept our children fully entertained. The pool is great for children and adults alike it is both shallow enough for little ones to play on their own at one end but deep enough for adults to swim at the other. There are plenty of sunbeds to go around. The rooms are very big, although a bit basic but with everything going on at the hotel all you need the room for is sleep and the beds were comfy and that's all that mattered. We would definitly recommend this hotel to any one.
fab choice for young families
Stayed 2 weeks all inclusive and had a fantasic time. Pool excellent for young children, very shallow and life guard on duty aswell. Always plenty of sunbeds and they were all new and in very good condition.
Food very good, plenty of choice with breakfast and evening meal buffet and you ordered your lunch from a menu again with lots of choice. Restaurant staff provide excellent service.
We were in block 18 which was at the back of the complex and it was very quiet, if I was to return I would request an upstairs apartment as they looked as if they has nice balconies to sit out on where our downstairs terrace wasn't that nice. Very well kept grounds and really clean.
Entertainment for us was a bit of a let down having stayed in 3 other FC complexes previously, Alex and Tina really good and tried extremely hard putting in loads of hours and Alex was hilarious! They done everything from water aerobics 'water gym' as Alex would say, to french bowls, killer pool, water polo, volleyball, bingo and Alex even does and evening performance himself! Kids reps really nice too. Lovely beaches but our favourite was Fig Tree Bay in Protaras, definately worth a look and infact the nicest beach we've ever come across.
There is a place just 5 minutes walk from the complex with loads of bouncy castles in which our kids loved and they could play for as long as they liked for £4 each.
This complex is great for everyone, there were older couples who returned year after year, young familes and also young groups of party goers, so a good mix which kept the place lively through the day and night, although we had a group of young lads in the 3 apartments above us, we never had any problems, they were going out on a night as we were coming in and they didn't come in til 6am and went straight to bed!!
Overall our best holiday ever and I'm sure we'll return but for me too many places to visit to go back to the same place year after year so off to Egypt next year!
i went with a group of girls sleeping four in each room & there was room for us to have our space.
pool fab bigger than i thought it would be lilo races fantastic & you don't even get in anyones way. alex & dj tina very good & entertaining always there to help with quetions/problems etc not there was any. nissi beach is a must so nice & clean, & what can i say about the waterpark... one word GO! everytime i go on hol i go 2 a waterpark & i must say this is one of the best 1s great rides. the square is only a taxi ride a way i know im young but i advise to go only thing which is annoying is where every1 asks you to go in their pub/club but try them all your on your holl. considering going back next year. ava fab time!
Absolutely loved electra!!
3 of my friends & I stayed at electra for 2 weeks all inclusive this summer & it was fabulous! The food was really nice- good buffet breakfast, & you could choose lunch off a menu which i thought was a good idea, also buffet at dinner was nice (especially the soup!) Well worth the money!
The waiters & bar staff were all very friendly & helpful (we made friends with a few of them).
The location of the hotel is perfect- it is within walking distance to the centre but far enough out so that it is really peaceful at night. There is also a great little beach literally seconds away from the hotel which is lovely- we spent nearly everyday there!
We did have one minor complaint about the hotel which was some of the reception staff were not very friendly & the lifeguard wasn't either.
I would say this hotel is ideal for either families or groups of friends, there is a great friendly, relaxed atmosphere and despite a few minor problems I couldn't really fault it!
love it or hate it
YOU EITHER LOVE THIS PLACE OR HATE IT.
I would say this complex is only a 2 star plusat best and it only gets its plus for its proximity to the beach.
First the goood points
It is all low level so that you don't have to wait for lifts and it has a big swimming pool to play in.
Now the bad
Dirty rooms, mice in your room ( however i think the cats caught up with that),resteraunt too small, not enough staff in the resteraunt or behind the bar,you have to pay a deposit for the air con remote nad tv remote £20.
You are asked not to put towells out on the sunbeds untill 09.30 bit they were out from 06.00.
The food at brekfast and evening meal lacked choice( the kids dont even get ice cream for desert).
Overall very expensive for what we got and won't be going back.If you go in a group and are in a all inclusive drunken haze for your holiday then it won't seem as bad.
