age limits?

by blondienwot

i am 15 and me and a few mates are thinking of heading to ayia napa for my 16th birthday i do look older than what i am but is there any point in me going? will i be able to get alcohol and get into the clubs?

Re: age limits?

by leics

The legal age for drinking alcohol is, seemingly, 16. Whether you get served, and whether you get into clubs, seems to be debatable. There may be some tightening up of the requirement to provide ID, especially if the police are around.

However, you risk ending up in a great deal of trouble if you are caught drunk and breaking the law in any way. This will not only cause huge and expensive problems for your parents but will quite possibly mess up your life considerably.

You may feel happy about drinking and clubbing illegally in the UK, because you look older 'than what you are'. It's not the same thing at all to take the same risks in a foreign country, with entirely different laws and standards of acceptable behaviour. You need to think hard before you go, and make sure you have proper travel and health insurance to cover you for any injuries etc you may sustain.

I totally agree with leics. This is not the site to canvas for help in a illegal activity.--- move on

Boogie On Down At The Carwash

by cheekymarieh about Carwash

Carwash is like a step back in time with music from the 70s and 80s in particular. There is usally a wide variety of music that appeals to most people from the sounds of Grease to the Bee Gees.

There is usually dancing on the bars as the night livens up. It is worth remembering that sometimes they have the occassional foam party. If you go on one of those nights, don't wear anything that will be damaged if some of the foam should land on you. Some people wear outfits from the 70s but also normal attire also goes.

Trees & wishes

by globetrott

Strange "Wishing-trees" are another good reason to step up the steep and uneven steps to the chapel of Profitis Elias. Take a closer look at these trees and all the things, letters, bottles etc. that were fixed on the branches of these trees. There is even a sandal with some inscriptions about a soccer-event, someof these things might be a joke by tourists, but most of them are certainly ment in a serious way.

Agia Napa

"Agia Napa"

A great place if you are young and like to party :) Don't expect any overwhelming cultural experiences though, the city consists of bars, clubs, discos, hotels and restaurants. And some nice beaches. The main beach, where people with hung overs hang out is Nissi Beach :)
