More about Olympic Lagoon Resort
amazing loved every minute !!!
well myself my friend and her 2 year old daughter stayed at the olympic lagoon for a week, we were joining my mum dad auntie uncle and baby cousin who is also 2 for a double wedding (my mum and dad, uncle and auntie) we arrived to our hotel and were promptly escorted to our room followed my our cases. the rooms were a good size we had a cot in there too and still had enough room to move about, the clenliness of the rooms was great cleaned everyday and our sheets were changed most days aswell as olivia had a habbit of wiping chocolate over them. we had clean towells for use in our room and also beach towells which were fresh everyday. the pool area is amazing its cool like you need in the day and at night they light it up its beautiful. breakfast was lovely a selection of fruit, yoghurt, cheese, cereal and regular cooked stuff like sausage egg bacon etc we used to have lunch in the pool bar which was lovely but was abit pricey. we used to take some bread and ham from breakfast for olivia in the day. the wedding day was beautiful the hotel put on a small buffet for after with wine and champagne they helped make the day perfect. there is a few resturants and pubs around the hotel which we went to in the evening quite reasonable. we liked the beach hut which was set on the beach and they did a little party for us the night before the wedding. i would go back here definatly and i think its more 5 star than 4
Best Holiday Ever, Will Be Back Next Year!!!
Wow! Fab Holiday Me & And The Group We Went With Loved Every Minute! The Pools Were Nice & Big. There Was A Choice Of 3 Pools All Were Good Bit The Lagoon Pool Was A Bit Dirty Some Days But The Rest Were Fine. Food Was Nice. We Were Staying Bed And Breakfast. The Breakfast Was Lovely And Always Loads To Chose From. We Stayed For A Evening Meal Once And It Was Nice Aswell. Quiet Expencive But Deffinatly Worth The Money, All The Rooms Are Nicly Decorated And Well Equiped Though Some Are Abit Small. All The Staff Were Friendly And Helpful And The Maid Did A Super Job. Lots Of Nice Restuaurants Just A Short Walk Away! I Would Recomend The King Sword To Eat In. For A Taxi Into Ayia Napa We Only Paid 4 Cyipriot Pounds. We Will Be Returning Next Year And Hope Its As Good.
Stayed here from 10-24 September. We booked a bungalow but the first one they put us in had a great view of a hedge (!) so the next morning we asked to be moved. The staff bent over backwards to help and found us another one straight away overlooking the pool (for a additional £70 UK), they even sent somebody to help us pack and move our suitcases! We spent all the time by the lagoon pool as we have two girls under 5 - they loved every minute of it! The entertainment is fantastic from volleyball at 10.30am, aqua splash at 12.30pm (at one time they had 62 people in the pool joining in) and various other activities during the day. The evening entertainment was good as well, from magicians to French Can-Can girls. We were on a B&B basis but ate at the hotel most of the time because the quality and variety of food was excellent. Prices are expensive in the hotel for drinks and food but we've found this to be the case throughout the island. We found Ayia Nappa itself quite scary at night , the taxis fly around with little regard for pedestrians and the pavements are so high you need two people to maneauvour a push chair down the curbs. We did venture to the harbour one evening but found it very quiet. We went to the water park, but I wouldn't recommend this for small children, it cost approx £75CYP for 4 adults, 1 child, 1 infant but there's not alot there for little ones. Apart from these grumps we had an excellent holiday and will definitely be going back next year.
best holiday ever
Myself and my boyfriend stayed here from 30th Aug - 13th Sept. We found this hotel to be the best one we have ever stayed in. The facillities were great especially the lagoon pool with the built in jacuzzis. The indoor pool was great to cool off in in the afternoon.
Rooms were quite small but were kept very clean wth fresh linen and towels changed daily. You are even provided with pool towels.
We went bed n breakfast which was good with lots of choice. Was nice to sit outside and eat our breakfast looking over one of the pools. Poolside bar was expensive for drinks we would just go to the supermarket at the end of the complex. The staff do not stop you from bringing your own food n drink by the pool. The food is quite reasonable and there is a lot to choose from.
Complex is quite isolated with only a few bars and restaurants around. We use to go into Ayia Napa everynight if you stand at the bus stop the taxis usually give you a good deal. We shared a taxi and only cost us £1 cyp each . The buses are quite regular during the day but of a night they are only about once every 30 mins.
Would reccomend going to Sage restaurant best one there!! Japanese restaurant is also good with great entertainment.
Would also recommend you go on the VIP cruise costs £49 cyp but well worth it you get all day at sea on board a catamaran and there is a free bar and food all day. Would also recomend you go waterpark great day out.
You will not be disappointed with this hotel!!!
Excellent hotel. Efficient and friendly staff. Booked a superior bungalow with pool view. Good sized room for 5 people. It was just a lovely lovely room greeting us when we'd arrived in the early hours of the morning after a 7 hour delay!
Spotlessly clean, extra toilet, patio door leading on own patio and straight onto pool area. Cannot fault accommodation.
Had breakfast and evening meal at hotel. Again cannot fault the food either, plently of choice every day, although the breakfast could get a little repetitive after a week.
The hotel is only 100 metres away from beach but we usually wandered over to Nissi bay most days because it is a very pleasant and busier beach (15 minutes walk)
Pool areas pleasant again, heated indoor pool which was good because it was beginning to get just a little too cold to swim outside towards the end of the week (we went last week in October)
Took taxi into Ayia Napa, but it is within walking distance. There are plenty of taxis and it was great not having the necessity to hire a car for a change.
Waterpark down the road is a must. Managed to spend all day there with my 3 children who absolutely adored it.
What more can I say, great hotel, great holiday would definitely go back.
Loved this place!!!!
We stayed here the first 2 weeks in May 06. We booked one of the larger bungalow rooms with private garden and own sunbeds (also has 2 toilets). We were really please with every aspect of this hotel. We went half board and the food was good. The price to pay for the food each night would have worked out about the same. We arrived late on our first night but they kindly changed it to a lunch on our last day. The private garden that we paid for faced onto the playground and although it was for our use only people could see in as the end is open, great for us as we could keep an eye on our daughter. The kids club is hotel run and we only found our upon arrival it is for children over 4 years old. Our daughter was 3. They let here stay there on the basis that one of us would stay around the pool area while she was there. It was adequately run but I did see one of the reps nod off while he was supervising a swimming session (he was NOT working there for long) We only had one real complaint and that was they seemed to turn off the heating for the indoor pool on a couple of days, claiming there was a problem.....in the end the BEAUTICIAN went and complained for us and it was turned back on!! The outdoor pool was too cold for most people in early May. There are plenty of weddings to look at in the day and a complex across the road has a coin operated laundry you can use. The beach is right across the road (5 minute walk). Overall this was a great place, the drinks and icecreams are expensive from the hotel but there is a supermarket right behind the hotel that sell everything you could want, English newspapers etc. We took our 5 months old baby and the staff were really friendly with him. There are plenty of ramps within the complex. Many people seem to go there every year, we would go again but now our baby is a toddler we don't fancy the longer flying time.
They also had a big screen up for the FA Cup in the bar, just incase you are worried!!
We have revisited every year for the past four years
I had to write this review having just read a terrible review of this hotel. May I say, "that there is always one". I have visited this hotel for the past four years and I would not go any where else. No it's not value for money, if that is what you are looking for, it's class!. I have been all over the world and I always stay in 5* resorts like the Bahia Principe, in Mexico, Dominic Republic, etc... In Cyprus the standard of living is that of European so don't expect the accomodation to be exceptional. But what is exceptional is the grounds, the pool area and the service. Loyality goes along way with Cyprets and they have continued to look after us year in year out because we always go back there. Take it from me this resort is ideal for couples and family's. Singles are not welcome here because they don't like noise and larger louts. You can understand this because of the relaxing atmosphere that they have created within their surroundings. So bottom line if you are looking for something close to Aiya Napa, somewhere that has value, lots of games and beer sessions then this is not for you. The average age group here is 40+ but if you are a young couple just want to get away to get to know each other better ,then a week here will do that trick!
Myself and my husband have been to the olymic lagoon for the past 2 years and we are going there again this year. We are also bringing our grown up daughter who needs a break. We love everything about this hotel especially the service. It is of exceptional standard. The beach bar down on the nearby beach is fantastic and we have found great friends in the owner and his staff who give excellent service and some how manage to get us slightly tipsy during the day. I would recomend this hotel to any couples out there or families who are looking for a relaxing holiday. The rooms are very acceptable and the hotel itself is beautiful which is why we are returning there this year and probably will again next year. WE LOVE IT
Moved here from Adams Beach Hotel. WITHOUT EXCEPTION ALL Olympic Resort staff were pro-active, friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived in Reception. The Animation team - Carlos, Harriet and Shona were delightful with our 7 year old son - he actually wanted to go to Kids Club - something he has refused to do on every other holiday in the past. Kid's Club offered a variety of activities and for those people wanting a child free holiday they were not running round wild and noisy!! There were other families with children of a similar age and our son was able to go and play footaball on the hotel's soccer pitch. Our room was a Superior Bungalow overlooking the play - area, we were able to allow our son to play with other children if we were getting ready to go out, or just sun - bathing on the sunbeds in the garden area outside our patio door. Across the road is the beach which is beautiful and a coastal path runs left into Ayia Napa or right up past the Water Park. Our bungalow was clean and there were clean towels daily (including pool towels). The restaurant offer flexi-dine which is excellent value and the food is of a high standard. The house wine is CY£6.00 a bottle and very palatable. On Easter Saturday all the children were given a mug with an Easter Egg inside. The hotel also arranged trips into Ayia Napa to see the Easter happenings at no cost to the guests. We'll be back - it's so good!!
Best Holiday ever!!
This hotel was fab!! We got married there last month and everything was perfect, the staff were brilliant, nothing was to much of a problem. The hotel was really clean and so were the pools, loads of clean towels, there were loads to do for the kids. You must visit the
water park, only about a 20 minute walk, lots of places to eat near by if you dont want to eat at the hotel every night. We will be going
back there next year!!!
