Ayia Napa Travel

by ames004

Hi There

My name is Amy, I am 25 years old and am studying in Cyprus at the start of September for a Semester, on an Exchange program. I come from Australia and none of the other people on the program are coming until just after the Semester starts.

I would love to travel around the Island a bit and check out Paphos, Ayia Napa and Larnaca especially. I am based in Nicosia and havent really checked much out yet!!

I was wondering if theres anyone around in the same age bracket that is travelling around on their own? It would be awesome to have a travel companion. Otherwise if anyone has got any tips about good places to go in Cyprus when you're on your own, or how to meet other people my age around here that would be awesome!!!

Thanks heaps. My email is ames004@hotmail.com

Regards, Amy :)

Travel Tips for Ayia Napa

What locals do

by Stavris

Cypriots from other towns of Cyprus when they usually go to Ayia Napa: they share an appartment between 4-6 of them, hire scooters take their FOUKOU, to light the fire in so they can make SOUVLA or SOUVLAKIA. During the day they go to konnos bay or sunrise beach. At night they go to clubs that usually only Cypriots visit like Guru or -2 or bikini bar and then they often visit River reggue before they go to bed if they ever go to bed. THEREFORE IT BECAME SORT OF A CUSTOM. You can try it to see if you enjoy it.

Good offer on drinks

by glamourprincess about Ambassaden

Translated: the ambassy. The name is Scandinavian and it also had Scandinavian flags, but the guests were British and German. They played commercial club and pop-hits on the first floor. It is not a fancy club or anything, it's quite worn down, a pub-like place to go for a few drinks. We went there every night because they had a great drink offer, buy 1 drink and get 4 free shots. I think it was meant to be 2 free shots, but we always got 4.. The drinks were horrible, too strong and just..yuck. There was a podium in the bar with a pole, it was popular among drunk British girls to go up there and dance for a free drink. So if you want a lot of drinks for your bucks, this is a great place to start.. But move on, because there are better places to spend the night! None

Sea Caves

by om_212

Beautiful nature is one of the biggest assets of Ayia Napa. The Sea Caves are just 2-3 km from the city center. a paved walking path goes along the shore, and then slightly off shore, because the shore is very rocky and sharp. so if you decide to walk along the shore to see more caves, make sure to have a pair of comfortable shoes with thick sole. the shore is rocky and sharp. And don’t forget to cover up and/or put sun block cream: the sun is strong even in April.

My Favourite partytown!

by kixon

I completely loved Ayia Napa! I have never ever seen such a nice town, full of bars and clubs, and sooo nice people! The funny thing is that everyone could spek/understand swedish, norwegian, danish or with some luck even finnish! The hotel was super, the weather magnificient, the bars superb, the parties overall just mad! Booze was so cheap, food good, and nothing went wrong during the whole trip! After seeing this place no other party-town can even be compared to it!!! The only bad thing was that food was a bit more expensive, and I saw a cucaracha, cucroach, how is it spelled anyway.. Whatever, they are nasty! But seriously, Ayia Napa, or little ibizia as it is called is so much better than any other partyplace so go there please!
