Apt Hotel Elamaris: Great for Kids

by intertraveler

This is a large Apt Hotel in the centre of Penera beach so there are bars and restaurants right on your door step.
This is good place to stay for familys there is a large pool a restaurant a pool bar and entertainment.. also there are tenis courts.
Also there is a super market and a laundry room on site
The rooms are spacious and well equipped plus a safe as well.
It was about 6 years since our visit my son was 15 and daughter 13 they made lots of friends and we did not see to much of them, they had a great time also.

This is a great for familys close to the centre of Pernera and a few minutes walk to the beach. Most of the bars and restaurants in the area are family friendly.

Hotel Anastasia: Stylish

by intertraveler

The Anastasia hotel is quite an impresive hotel. The atrium is large with plants over hanging right up to the roof . as you enter the atrium the restaurants is to the right which is quite large and well decorated. to the left leades you to the bar which is also large plus an entertainment area. The bar leads on to a terace overlooking the pool and gardens. there is a small rocky beach in front of the hotel. Protaras and Penerra are not far.

The bed rooms are compact and also decorated and fixtures of a good standard.

The food in the restaurant is buffet style with a good choice of dishes salad etc. I liked the food here and was not disapointed.

There is a gym hairdressers and an indoor pool making it a good place to visit in winter.
I was on AI which made my stay even beter.

I think the design of this hotel has had a lot of thought. It as a good lounge area in the atrium. The kitchen also serves both the restaurant and the bar.
In all a well run hotel

Apt Hotel Livas: Not to Big

by intertraveler

This is were we stayed on our first visit 1989.
These apt were brand new and the old man and his wife the owners still had there donkey then you can see on there post cards.
We went back three times to the livas and made a lot of friends with the Cypriot people.
The Livas apt as about 28 rooms which have AC and are well equiped.
There is a supermarket run by the owners Goerge and Maria and also a bar and restaurant.
The swimming pool is good plus a tenis court.

In a good location close to the beach and bars.
Very friendly

Windmill Apartments: Basic Accomodation In A Central Location

by cheekymarieh

The facilities within the apartment complex include: a bar (with one of the tackiest Elvis impersonators I have ever heard), a restaurant (although I personally was not impressed with the standard of the food or the service), a small swimming pool, foreign exchange facilities and a very nosiy parrot!

The apartments themselves are basic but clean with regular maid service. One thing I did notice was that they didn't sweep the balcony though!

Why did I chose to stay here given the above? Well it is conviently located in the centre of Pernera and gave me the bed that I required to sleep in! Also the bus stop is right outside the apartments so you don't have far to walk.
Within a few hundred metres there are two beaches and a few good restaurants. So what the apartments lack, the local facilities make up for.

Farkonia Apartments: Back To Basics

by cheekymarieh

The Farkonia Apartments are close to a very small beach between Pernera Beach and Kalamies Beach. This little beach used to be a lovely spot and you could often be the only person there ... but there has been a new hotel development that was completed last year so unfortunately it is not so deserted.

The apartments date back to 1984 and are very basic in their facilities. The rooms themselves are however quite spacious although they are very minimalistically furnished. Having said that we couldn't find fault with them as they were kept very clean.

Many of the apartments overlook the small pool which has a bridge over it. When using the pool watch out for children who may decide to jump off the bridge (even though they aren't supposed to). There are a few sunbeds around the pool but to be honest we found it a little to shaded as the aprtments are built around the pool.

There is a small restaurant (though the menu was short of vegetarian options so we didn't use it) and a supermarket nextdoor.

Papantonia: Quiet Location But Not Too Far From The Action

by cheekymarieh

The accomodation was quite bright and spacious when we stayed. It had been recently renovated. It had a decent sized swimming pool with lots of sunbeds around it.

The staff are exceptionally friendly. There is a good pool side bar which has a good range of snacks. They weren't too pricy either.

Near to the restaurant there are a few games machines that are meant to keep the children occupied. If you are near to them for long you might find them annoying like we did.

This is the apartments that I was staying at when I felt the earth move for me!!! Laid by the pool one afternoon catching up on lost sleep from the previous night, there was an earthquake ... and I slept right through it!

Anastasia Hotel: Anastasia Hotel

by cheekymarieh

The reception area of the hotel is incredibly spectacular with lots of greenery as decoration.

There are several swimming pools in the hotel including one indoor one.

Evening entertainement is provided most all year round catering for all age ranges and tastes. Usually the entertainment is delivered in both English and German.

There are also organised daytime activities for those who want to participate including: walks, darts, aqua-aerobics, and five-a-side football.

Tip Photo
Dominiki Hotel, Pernera,

by cheekymarieh

The hotel overlooks Pernera Beach and has its own gardens and pool. We often laid by the pool and then went to swim in the sea as it is so close. On our return we would go in the pool to get rid of the sand.

Superb views across the bay, friendly staff and well equipped rooms. The pool has lots of sunbeds around it but it can sometimes be difficult to find an umbrella for shade. These seem to be a bit thin on the ground at times.

There is a reception / lounge area with TV and pool table. Another sporting facility is the volleyball call.

Tip Photo
Tsokkos Beach: A Four Star But Only Just

by cheekymarieh

In common with many Cypriot hotels, we found that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They really couldn't do enough to make sure that you enjoyed your stay.

The rooms were starting to look as if they might need some refurbishment to brighten them up.

The facilities were good with a great pool (if somewhat cold), gym, hairdriers in rooms, a good bar and entertainment.
