Planning to visit Cyprus in March/April 2008. We are 4 seniors and would like some advice on good and interesting coach day tours around Paphos, Nicosia, Koodos and any other good places. Also planning to stay at the Golden Arches. Any comments would be appreciated.
My wife and I went to Cyprus last September with friends. We stayed in Paphos and our ages ranged from 55-61. You will find lots of tour organisers so first of all do a little bit of window shopping. Also, ask a few fellow tourists if they can make any recommendations. We went on day tours to Nicosia and the Troodos Mountains. They are pretty much standard day trips on Cyprus and I can certainly recommend them. The trip to Nicosia might have the option either to get off the coach and spend a few hours in Nicosia or stay on board and travel across the border into Northern Cyprus and the coastal town of Kyrenia. We opted for Nicosia but you could do either or both on different days. The trip into the mountains was also very pleasant and will include a visit to the tomb of Archbishop/President Makarios. You might also consider a short sea visit to Egypt - overnight to Port Said, a coach journey to Cairo, visit the Cairo Museum, the pyramids, a papyrus workshop, lunch on the Nile, then back to the boat and overnight return to Limasol. Also, don't be afraid to use the local buses for short trips.
Dear Mike,
Thank you so much for your comments and advice. Did you by any chance see the Golden Arches Hotel or even the Navarria as these two have been recommended as being affordable. I found some tours online and would appreciate your advice on these. I can book these online before we arrive. Do you have any recollection of which company you used for your tours and perhaps I can find them online. Atlas is the only one I have found so far. How may we get from Larnaca airport to Limassol? IS there a shuttle bus etc for the transfers?
Northern Exposure - Kyrenia and Bellapais - Is this is the one you are talking about?
Divided City - Nicosia and Lefkara
Past and Present - Famagusta and Salamis
TROODOS / KYKKO MONASTERY
Paphos History and Curium
AKAMAS SAFARI

HI Elainebe
Are there shuttle buses from Larnaca to Limassol?
Thanks
