by Sanneke
The Lampadistis-monastery, not far from the wellknown Kykko-monastery in the village of Kalopanayotis. Special church, constructed in two different centuries and you have to call for the pope or priest from the village, so he can come and open the door with his key!!!

The ancient city-kingdom Kourion ( Curium )
One day we went to excursion to that place.
It is one of the most spectacular archaeological site of the island. There is also renovated Greco-Roman Theatre, built in the 2 century BC. The Roman villas floors are covered with magnificent mosaics.
In theatre one girl performed us a little dance...The acustic of that kind of theatre is magnificent ! If You are standing on the upper step of the theatre You can hear clearly what somebody says in the middle of arena- try it ! We did ! ;)
To comment the mosaics, I say just : What a job !
Limassol

"Brief History on Cyprus"
You too can sample many types of local wine in the hundreds of bars and restaurants in Limassol, the island’s second largest city and capital of its wine industry. The Potamos Yermasoyias area, also known as "Sunset Strip" is very cosmopolitan and is lined with international restaurants, bars, English-style pubs and trendy clubs. In contrast, the Old Town offers a more traditional atmosphere with local tavernas, cafenions (coffee shops) and ouzeries.
The shopping is diverse too. There are elegant boutiques with designer-label clothing, pavement stalls selling gold and silver jewellery made by local artisans, ceramic and leatherware shops. Even Woolies and M&S have stores here. The beaches stretch some 17km along the coastline, with every imaginable watersport on offer, including scuba diving. Governor’s and Ladies Mile beach are popular with the locals who come for a beach barbecue at the weekend.
Limassol is a great base for exploring the island. The majestic Troodos mountains form a back drop to the city and can be reached in about one hour. The pleasant summer climate offers a welcome relief from the heat of the coast and the densely forested slopes, rustic villages, sweeping valleys and nature trails are perfect for walking. A short drive from Limassol is Kolossi Castle, the Temple of Apollo and then fabulous Kourion amphitheatre, dating back 2000 years..

"Curium Palace Hotel"
The oldest hotel in Limassol. Rennovated in 2002. Wonderful old style hotel for those of you like me that love these old hotels which are so distinctive and not touristy.
"Coast near Agia Napa"
Lots of wind and waves this Spring along the South-East Coast
"A lil' fixer upper"
A lil' fixer upper on the 2nd floor, but no need to cook, there is a restaurant on the ground storey, and a Coke machine in the corner, in case you're thirsty in the morning.
Hard to believe Cyprus is one of the richest countries to join the newly expanded EU, eh?
"Flowers along the Road"
Taken between Larnaca and Limassol. May is a nice time of year to see Cyprus before it gets too hot and the countryside burns off.
