A mixed bag
I agree with all other reviews for this hotel. The spa, pool, restaurants, and gym were fantastic. I would like to point out, however, that the television service is terrible. The hotel allows eight free channels, with only one channel being in English (CNN). Satellite channel access can be purchased for six dollars for three hours, but considering that two and three star Hilton hotels in the United States offer 20-25 channels from free, this price is outrageous. Likewise, the hotel charges high prices for intenet access and access to the spa. Again, I have had these amenities free at lesser rated Hilton hotels in the United States.
Unique Quality: The pool, gym, and spa are the best I've ever seen in a hotel. The breakfest buffet was outstanding.

Hilton style
Its' not easy to rate an Hilton, the brand is reknown and nobody expect anythging less than perfect ... this Cyprus one is no exception: clean, big, expensive enough, good meal and superbar, small shopping gallery for shopping hardcore fanatics, kind staff, nice location ... what else ? oh yes, outdoor and indoor pools.
Unique Quality: Delightful sandwiches at the bar !!

They'll Take Care of You
The Hilton Cyprus is located just a short walk from the city of Lefkosia (Nicosia) and an even shorter walk to the local university and conference centres. The hotel has large grounds and beautiful facilities. Some times it is difficult to tell when a hotel is really five stars in Cyprus because they seem to have different standards. For instance, I had made a reservation at what was listed as a four star hotel but it would only receive one or two in my native Israel. The Hilton though lives up to its reputation.
Unique Quality: There is an indoor heated pool, spa, and beauty salon within the hotel as well as shops. Outside there are tennis courts and an even larger pool.

Different hotels in Nicosia
I first stayed in the Holiday Inn, inside the old city, nice because close from interesting touristic area, but quite far from Nicosia "business center" which is in the old city.
At Holiday Inn, price was 84CYP, reduced after bargaining to 74CYP.
Castelli Hotel is close by, about 70CYP, you can use indoor pool and sport facilities of Holiday Inn for free, but room much more smaller.
Classic Hotel is a little cheaper but the rooms are micro and very noisy.
Hilton is out in the new city, and price negotiated to 70CYP (you can get it down to 62 pounds if you stay over a full month, which was not my case)
PHONE is damn expensive in hotels (0.16CYP) same for internet (5CYP/45mn), fax is the cheapest international communication mean in a hotel!

I can´t speak about that cause...
I can´t speak about that cause I´m living in the house that I rent. But i can tell that there are some good hotels like 'Hilton', 'Holiday Inn', 'Philoxenia', but they are a little bit expensive (they are 5 stars hotels. I don´t know anything about lower quality hotels).
