akteon tourist village: nice hotel shame about the all inc

the only thing that let's the akteon down is the all inclusive,if you are not a i it's a great place to stay,the pool area is great,overlooking the sea,but no beach.the studio was quite spacious,if you are full board or half board,the food is ok,it's a nice place for families,daniela,michel,and lenya are great with the kids and keep them occupied.there are activities for the adults during the day,french boulles,killer darts,killer pool,giant shuffleboard.there is a bus service about 5 minutes walk from the complex which takes you to paphos harbour or coral bay,both worth visiting.there is also chris's taxi rank just by the main gates of the akteon.this is not a ideal place for party people,if you want all night bars i suggest staying nearer the harbour ,where there are lots of bars.

great for families who like to spend a lot of time by the pool or on the complex.who like activities.

Paphian Bay: Very good for a 3*

very nice hotel, i'd say more than 3*, we had B&B and breakfast is realy tasty, dont miss it, it ends at 10, although 1 minute to 10 they still serve everything. pool is small but you can use neighbour hotel's that belongs to same "Constantinou bros" Chain. Every room has a full garden+pool+sea view.
Location is also comfortable: Paphian aphrodite waterpark is just across the road (5 minutes walking), 10 mins walking for the nearest car rent office, 5 mins by bus to the town centre/harbour. Paphian Bay is also the closest hotel on to the airport.
Only bad impression is how once we had a giant cockroach in our room which was very scary! Anyway we sorted it out pretty fast with a little help of a friendly (at 2 am:) cypriot guy from receprion. They are all so friendly and always ready to help, it even takes time to get used to it!
Sea is nice warm and clean once you pass the sea-weed mash at knee-deep distance. To avoid rocks on the bottom, try the right side of the beach where it is sand. For lunch in hotel i'd recommend halloumi sandwich (actually any type of halloumi (goat cheese) especially grilled is tasty, i still see it in my dreams sometimes and my mouth is watering)
On saturday we had "Management cocktail" with champaign & tartalets, almost every night there's a nice show with live music, although its mainly for those above 40 y.o
So yes, definitely recommended

Ascos Coral Beach: Adults Only Hotel in Coral Bay

our visit in May of this year (2005) was our third to the Ascos and although we still had a wonderful time, there were a few early season "teething problems" due to new management and staff shortages.

Ninety-per-cent of the staff are now bought in from Slovakia and although most are friendly, pleasant and efficient, they're under-paid and over-worked which ovbviously effects their morale. They really do deserve more pay and recognition. Another consequence of staff shortages is queues for the bar at peak times.

The hotel and grounds are kept very clean and the maid service is daily. Food is good if a little bland at times although breakfast is superb.

The entertainment is fantastic with various activities during the day and varied cabaret in the evenings.

Would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing, adults-only all-inclusive holiday. (Adult-only from May to October).

The pool terrace is absolutely superb with expansive, free-form pool spanned by a foot-bridge. There's also a well kept landscaped garden area with plenty of space for sunbeds and parasolls.

It's right by the sea though the beach there is pebbly with the excellent Coral Bay beach a ten minute walk away. There is water-sports with jet-skis and kayaks on the hotel "beach" which are payable locally.

Other facilities include indoor pool, well-aquipped gym, jacuzzi, sauna and massage (payable locally).

Breathtaking sea-views are a highlight also.
