a great pool & more

The Akteon has a great pool, but unfortunately they close it quite early, so I could not use it a lot. It was getting dark around 06.00pm and so they also closed to pool that early and did not open it again before 09.00am

Unique Quality: Akteon Holiday Village
is the name of this hotel because this hotel is not just a large building, but lots of small houses with a nice park between them and all of them share the pool etc. Only the reception and the restaurants are in a big building in the centre and there is a shop as well.

an excellent hotel

I had 2 nights in this hotel and it was a big difference from the room that I had in the Larco-hotel in Larnaca. In the Akteon everything was perfectely clean and when looking at the tiles in the bathroom etc. it was like you know it from lots of perfect hotels in Europeand elsewhere, BUT the price here was also double: I payed 42 euros per night at the end of October for the single-use of this big appartment that had a full kitchen, fridge, microwave and cutlery, pans and pots etc. for a family of 4 or even more.
This price of 42 euros was "self-catering" and in addition I was given the chance to book upon arrival for halfboard for 16 euros extra, while the dinner-buffet alone was 15 euros and breakfast-buffet was 7,50 euros, so these 16 euros are a good offer.
Another offer was "all inclusive" for 30 euros a day.
The Lunch-buffet is 11,50 euros, but during the day I was sightseeing, so only the Halfboard made sense for me.

Unique Quality: They have a large outdoor-swimmingpool and also some smaller pool inside and a family would find lots of facilities there in order to spend the day.

Akteon Tourist Village Hotel 4* AI

We chose to try out the Akteon Tourist Village as it isn't a tall sunblocking hotel, it's more of a little village, hence the name I suppose. The hotel is made up of the Main building with reception, restaurants, bars, indoor pool, spa etc, then lots of seperate buldings which have 2 appartments in them on above the other.

We coudn't Believe the room. It was fantastic. Spacious, VERY clean, well equipped and close to everything. It had a fully controlable Air Con unit which we NEEDED so much, a full kitchen, bathroom, safe, balcony, TV, massive wardrobes, phone, pretty much everything you can imagine you'd need really. The rooms were tidied every day, beds and rubbish bins cleaned up (be careful though as the maid came in one morning and I was asleep on the bed, no covers, stark bo**ock naked, she didn't seem to mind though). The room was 1 floor up and the only bug we saw was a tiny weeney lizard who we made friends with.

The main bar is a cocktail bar which serves up a wide range of cocktails from a menu, and beers including the local beer KEO and most international drinks. All drinks are bought to the table with free popcorn. We went all inclusive which is usually only all local spirits, wines and beers but there was an international beer included - Carlesberg. The other bar was where all the nightly entertainment was. Both bars are central to everything and access to everything from the bars is clear and easy.

More about Akteon Holiday Village

nice hotel shame about the all inc

by bankowskiboy about akteon tourist village

the only thing that let's the akteon down is the all inclusive,if you are not a i it's a great place to stay, the pool area is great, overlooking the sea,but no beach.the studio was quite spacious,if you are full board or half board, the food is ok,it's a nice place for families, daniela, michel, and lenya are great with the kids and keep them occupied.there are activities for the adults during the day, french boulles, killer darts, killer pool, giant shuffleboard.there is a bus service about 5 minutes walk from the complex which takes you to paphos harbour or coral bay, both worth visiting.there is also chris's taxi rank just by the main gates of the akteon.this is not a ideal place for party people,if you want all night bars i suggest staying nearer the harbour ,where there are lots of bars. great for families who like to spend a lot of time by the pool or on the complex.who like activities.

the best holiday ever

by TripAdvisor Member davinia28

We had the best holiday ever here, the staff are friendly and can't do enough to help you, they spoke many different laungages so everyone felt welcome. The entertainment staff are excellent, they really made us feel welcome and were brilliant with the children.

The complex itself is well kept, the apartments are really clean and spacious, the pool is lovely and enough room for everyone.

The resturant was excellent and the food was gorgeous, there was always something for everyone.

Overall we would reccomend Akteon Village to anyone,a definate home from home feeling and are definatly planning on returning next year,

This place is great!

“This place is great”

To say we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Akteon Village is an understatement. We stayed 1 week July 31st-6th August 2006. If you have booked to stay or are thinking about staying here –you will be not be disappointed.

We were a little apprehensive staying All Inclusive as we have stayed “AI” before in Spain but this was not on the same level.

The food in the restaurant was excellent. You can sit indoors or out – all self service and the choice was very good, always hot and never any empty trays even towards to the end of the service. Each night the buffet was different ranging from Carvery or Chinese to Traditional Cypriot food. There really was something to suit all tastes. You can also eat at the snack bar (outside) for lunch or in the restaurant if you were AI. There was waitress service for drinks and clearing away – they were very efficient and pleasant.
We were a party of 10 and we sat together every meal time in the restaurant – nothing was too much hassle.

We also got 8 beds with umbrellas next to each other every day by the pool. There is no need to get up early or put your towels out at the crack of dawn either as the staff collects any towels or lilos reserving the beds in the early hours– RESULT! Towels for the fabulous and very clean pool area are also provided.

The apartments were very clean and very well equipped and spacious each having a balcony and very efficient air con (small deposit payable at reception).

The entertainment programme is great – join in if you want to or have a walk to the beach 5 minutes away.

We had all ages in our party and have travelled all over – we found Akteon Village to be very well run with not a single complaint from any of us. We will return.

Great Holiday

by TripAdvisor Member rsg1

We spent 2 weeks with our two children at the Akteon in July. The apartment was lovely - spacious and clean. The food was excellent, we were self catering, but upgraded to all inclusive and there was a good variety at each meal.
All staff - reception, restaurant and bar staff were very helpful, but mostly we need to mention how hard the entertainment staff work and how friendly they are.

All in all a great holiday that we would recommend to all.

A wheelchair nightmare

by A TripAdvisor Member

No-one could have stressed more, the need for wheelchair accessible accommadation than I did. I repeatedly told my agent that I had to have wheelchair access and was told it wasn't a problem, but just to be sure I checked with the hotel that their facilities were suitable. I can tell you, THEY'RE NOT. After a death treck down a 1 in 3 gradient with suitcases and bags ballanced on my knees. (There are no porter services) I was faced with a six inch step into a ground floor apartment. With the skill of a bagage handler I pelted the suitcase at the front door and with bags held securely in my teeth was able to mount the step without doing permanant damage to either me or my chair. Entering the apartment I instantly saw that it was going to be a long week. I had easy access to both the living area and the bedroom, but for some reason, known only to the patron saint of doorways, the bathroom door way two inches narrower. For a whole week toileting had to be facilatated in the main building( up the mountainous ramp and 500 yards away ) and had no access to either shower or bath. Let me tell you, a whole week in the scorching heat of Cyprus without bathing facillaties is not fun. The ablebodied guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and the food was interesting, but I could never ever recomend the Akteon to anyone who isn't into hill walking.

"The Harbour in Paphos, One of Main Attractions."

The Famous Castle is at the Harbour,

The Harbour is great. There are Restaurants, Boat Trips, The Castle, a bird museum, shops, EVERYTHING. Very close to the Airport and just a short drive from the hotel we stayed at (see hotel tips).

The people around the Harbour are great. The people who do the Safari's and high speed wave hopping boat trips are English and are lovely, go and see them.

You can either get a Cab here or drive, not sure about parking as we didnt have a car BUT looking at google maps, there seems to be a big car park about 1 minute walk away

"Coral Bay is a place you HAVE to visit!"

Coral bay is the main Beach in Paphos, its beautiful. We only went there for a short time as it was 43C, too hot for me.

There is a VERY wide range of watersports available here, Jet Skiing, Parascending, sailing, canoing, everything.

The water is clear and warm and there is a shop there with food and drinks and ice cream etc... Plenty of tables.

The little high street in Coral bay is great too, loads of bars, shops, cafes and there's a cash machine next to the leather shop.

If you want to get a moped or motorbike there is a place here. You will need your driving license. Minimun 2 day rental, cost about £30-£40. We FILLED the tank with petrol for about £5-7. (ask for directions, quite far)
