Adults Only Hotel in Coral Bay

by Robbie-jim about Ascos Coral Beach

our visit in May of this year (2005) was our third to the Ascos and although we still had a wonderful time, there were a few early season "teething problems" due to new management and staff shortages.

Ninety-per-cent of the staff are now bought in from Slovakia and although most are friendly, pleasant and efficient, they're under-paid and over-worked which ovbviously effects their morale. They really do deserve more pay and recognition. Another consequence of staff shortages is queues for the bar at peak times.

The hotel and grounds are kept very clean and the maid service is daily. Food is good if a little bland at times although breakfast is superb.

The entertainment is fantastic with various activities during the day and varied cabaret in the evenings.

Would recommend it to anyone for a relaxing, adults-only all-inclusive holiday. (Adult-only from May to October). The pool terrace is absolutely superb with expansive, free-form pool spanned by a foot-bridge. There's also a well kept landscaped garden area with plenty of space for sunbeds and parasolls.

It's right by the sea though the beach there is pebbly with the excellent Coral Bay beach a ten minute walk away. There is water-sports with jet-skis and kayaks on the hotel "beach" which are payable locally.

Other facilities include indoor pool, well-aquipped gym, jacuzzi, sauna and massage (payable locally).

Breathtaking sea-views are a highlight also.

We've been back 8 times

My wife and have been to the Ascos Beach 8 times since it opened and have always had a great time. I have recommended this hotel to friends and relations who've all enjoyed themselves, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it again. I've been on All Inclusive holidays all over the world, and while not coming up to the standard of some of the more expensive Carribean resorts it's head and shoulders above many of the A/I hotels we've stayed at. Just compare the cost of some b&b hotels in Cyprus to see what good value the Ascos is. We're going back in July and I can't wait to dive into the best swimming pool in Cyprus and renew old friendships with seriel Ascos Beachers

fantastic weather reasonable hotel

by TripAdvisor Member Eternal_Holidaymaker

Stayed here on a cheap A.I break in April.
Plenty of food fast food style through the day, pleasant enough at night. Lot of older guests at night in the bar, many seemed to be return guests who knew each other. We went up the street for cocktails which kind of defeated the AI point but hey, we were on holiday.
Pool waqs great, not busy at all, plenty loungers. AI cocktails a bit watery as pre made up but hubby enjoyed the beer. Weatherwas fab which contributed to our enjoyment.
Room was ok, had a room overlooking car park with stale sandwiches when we arrived but at least they made the effort to feed us on a late arrival, its the only hotel that has done that for us. Paid for a sea view next day which meant we had the sun on our balcony, well worth the money.
All in all we had a good holiday. I would have been gutted if we had paid brochure price, but we got a cheap deal at half that. Coupled with the (almost!) guaranteed sunshine we enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely Hotel

We stayed here for 1 week and to be honest that was enough for us, there is no beach directly on the complex although there is a small one a short distance away, if you like a beech holiday this is not for you. The hotel is kept very clean and maid service is very good, the food was excellent, although we usually have A I holidays we found that at this hotel A I finished at midnight, usually it is 24/7. We enjoyed ourselves but will not return.

Fantastic honeymoon!

by A TripAdvisor Member

MY husband and I flew out to Paphos a few days after our wedding, and were looking forward to a week of relaxation, and thats exactly what we got! From the moment we arrived, the staff were very helpful and friendly (probably because we treated them with respect, unlike a lot of holidaymakers).

Our room was lovely, and was cleaned everyday. We had a fantatsic view of the sea from our balcony, and could also sit out there in the evening to watch the entertainment if we chose to. The food was superb, lots of different things to chose from (which unfortunately means Im on a diet now!). The staff were lovely and friendly, often stopping to ask if we were having a nice holiday. The bar/restaurant staff worked tirelessly. We often joked with one young man (who we called Smiler, as he smiled constantly) about him never sleeping as he always appeared to be at work! They all spoke brilliant English, putting us to shame as I only know about 5 Greek phrases!

AS for the entertainment David, Kayleigh, Stevie P and Jenny worked very hard at organising tournaments such as killer darts, french boules, fun fitness etc as well as providing evening entertainment which included bingo, karaoke, quizes etc.

All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon!

Loved it, its paradise x

Me and my boyfriend stayed for one week all inclusive at the end of may. It was great. The pool was one of the best i have been too!! our room was large and cleaned everyday. the food was good lots of choice a bit repetative but thats always the same in hotels. the entertainment was good!! stevie P, Jenny, kaylie and david were really friendly. it was really relaxing as there is no children! We are definatly going to return hopefully next year. I would recomend this hotel if you want peace and relaxation, there are bars in coral bay which are good and it only costs £10 in a taxi to bar street in phasos. A good resturant if you want a change is the elephant resturant in coral bay. Over all one of the best holidays i have had.xx

Coral Bay, Cyprus - Small and Friendly

by Robbie-jim

"Coral Bay"

You certainly couldn't call Coral Bay a large resort but it's size is one of its best features.

It's basically one road lined with a fair selection of bars and restaurants and a scattering of typical tourist shops though there's also a decent sized supermarket.

It's a pretty laid back place but on certain nights you'll find the usual live music and karaoke [more later]. A modern nightclub has also recently opened opposite the Crown Resort Hotel though we didn't visit so can't comment.

If you do fancy a more lively night, you can always visit Paphos (about 8km) with a regular bus service operating until 11pm in the summer months costing only 65c. A taxi will cost between £8 - 10cyp though it's best to agree a price before getting in.

We love this resort because it gives you a personal touch, where you soon feel familiar and somehow a part of the atmosphere and ambience.

Be aware that there's a lot of building in the area with new villa complexes cropping up on every spare piece of land. Only time will tell if this situation helps to enhance Coral Bay's small and friendly reputation...

"Wonderful Sunsets..."

If you're staying at the Ascos Coral Beach Hotel, wait until sunset and go to the top floor. If the firedoor that leads to the roof is open, (as it should be!) sneak out and you'll get some brilliant photos (probably even better than mine!)
