More about Atlantica Golden Beach Hotel
Wonderful holiday
by TripAdvisor Member Kthomp
Have just spent a wonderful ten days at the Atlantica Golden Beach Hotel in Paphos with my husband to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversay and our first holiday alone without the kids since they arrived 16 years ago! Also, no kids in the hotel which was a definite bonus. We had booked a superior room and all inclusive. The room was lovely, with our own little garden and sunloungers and the food was out of this world. We chose to miss lunch for some of the days we were there as we just couldn't face eating any more! In hindsight we would have been better booking half board and then buying the all inclusive drinks package when we got there - as quite a few people seemed to be doing. Just can't complain about anything at all and would definitely go back there again.

We have just returned from a week at the Atlantica Golden Beach. The hotel is absolutely fantstic, staff all very helpful & friendly. Our room was beautiful and the sea view was breath taking! The choice and quality of food was excellent, don't expect to lose any weight while there! The only point I would make is that it's well worth going all-inclusive, we didn't, and the drinks etc are quite expensive.
The Thomson Gold Brochure we booked from was very reaslistic and the hotel was set up for couples. The entertainment provided by Thomson was very much geared up for the over 60's, which is great, but it would have been nice to have had something for younger couples who manage to escape their kids for a few days!
Overall, a great holiday.

A fantasic hotel

My husband and I have just come back from an All Inclusive week at the Atlantica Golden Beach and what a fabulous time we had.
The hotel was fantastic, clean and the staff were amazing, always polite and cheerful, in particular, Dora, an exceptional waitress who always made sure we had a drink! The food options were great, lot's to choose from and the pudding choice at dinner - WOW!
The pool and beach area have plenty of sunloungers, great for soaking up the rays! With hardly any children at the hotel the pool was great, no splashing, no balls etc.
The entertainment was great, yes they cater more for the older couple, but as a young couple, my husband and I thought it was great. True Sound are talented singers and Suz and Suzanne, what more can I say, entertaining characters, always smiling and dancing around, what a challenging job they have, however, looks like they enjoy every minute of it!
The only thing I will say is that if you wanted to venture out of the hotel then there isn't a great deal locally, however, there are bus stops outside the hotel that will take you to Coral Bay/Tomb of Kings/Paphos Harbour. They run every 15 mins and at 80cents no matter where you go, they're not expensive!
I'd also like to mention Paphos harbour - it is a wonderful place, lot's to do and lot's of souvenir shops. For the adventurous out there I would certainly recommend the Tiger Boats! Fantastic Experience!
All in all a fantastic holiday - we didn't want to leave and we will certainly be going back :o)

We recently stayed at this hotel and found the accommodation, staff and food to be absolutely wonderful and would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. No children as this was a Thomson Gold holiday and it was so peaceful and restful. Staff were so friendly - especially the front of house manager. We would certainly return to this hotel without hesitation.

We have just spent 4 weeks al inlcusive in this wonderful hote.
The staff are all amazing, in particular, I feel I must mention the following staff. Petros Th.Theodoulou, General Manager and his secretary Dia, Panayiotis Markou, front of house manager, for his wonderful sense of humour and style and the lovely George Koukoutas, Maitre D, Hotel who always has a welcoming smile for you.
We were most impressed with the food, thanks to Head Chef, Patrick, even after 4 weeks we were not bored, always something different.
We were there over the Cyriot Easter, and they all gave us the most wonderful time, lots of celebratory meals and general fun. It was also very nice to meet the staffs familys.
The service in the bars were far better than any other all inculsive hotel we have ever stayed in, all the bar staff were fantastic, in particular Kamila, nothing was too much trouble.
Would we go to this hotel again, you bet we would!!!!
What a lovely hotel

My husband and I wanted a break, just for a week in some warm sunshine. We achieved that at this hotel. The staff are excellent, quality and variety of food, superb. If you're looking for a beach type holiday, then you might be disappointed as the beach by the hotel is minute. However, there were ample sunloungers and umbrellas by the pool and in the garden area. Poolside towels were also available. We generally make our own travel arrangements and accomodation bookings but on this occasion we booked through Thompsons. [Actually, Portland - as they were cheaper!] They did offer entertainment throughout the day and evening which was Ok but as we were there just to chill out, we didn't get too involved in that, and we certainly didn't feel pressurised to join in.
My only complaint about the hotel is that we booked a double room and the bed was rock hard but by the end of the week we'd got used to that.
We would certainly consider staying in this hotel again. We were impressed.

We recently spent a week at the Golden Beach and were really pleased with the hotel.
Never having been on a package holiday, we normally organise everything ourselves, we were not quite sure what to expect. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations.
The surroundings are really peacefull and far enough away from Paphos to be quiet but close enough for a taxi or bus ride.
The pool was really nice although try to avoid it around 11.00 am unless you want to join in with the "water fun fitness"!
There were always enough sun loungers even if you didn't get to the pool until the afternoon. We chose a spot closer to the sea and enjoyed hearing the waves lap against the beach whislt relaxing with a book.
I would reccommend this hotel for anyone who just wants to unwind and with only a few kids allowed it was very quiet. The average age of the guests was probably 55 but don't rule it out if you are younger like ourselves.
The food at the hotel was excellent, there was always plenty of choice and they catered for everyone. We did not have anything that we did not enjoy, infact it was all brilliant. The only citisism we would have is that chips were always on the menu! I do wish us Brits could try something new when abroad! If you get the chance, try the Al A Carte resturant for a night, the food was even better.
Breakfast on the veranda was a really nice way to start the day over looking the pool and the sea beyond.
We could not fault the service at the hotel, all of the staff were friendly and helpful. We were amazed by the personal touches which were included.
The entertainment was not to our taste at all, but there always seemed to be plenty of people enjoying it. If it is not for you all I would say is that the music etc, was very loud but then again, it onyl went on until midnight so it was no real hardship if you fancied an early night.
We would definately return to this hotel and would recommend others visit.
Well done the Atantica Golden Beach, you have certainly got it right. Keep up the good work!
the place to relax
by TripAdvisor Member thomas010706
we had our honeymoon at the atlantica ,and found it to be a very relaxing atmosphere, the staff were great allways happy ,the pool service was exellent , the food was fab the only fault we could find was that the prizes the thompson gold team offered were a bit poor ie bottles of wine , we were all inc so we got it free anyway
on our arrival the receptionist showed us round even at 3 am in the morning he was very happy and polite, in our room was fresh flowers and champagne ,if you are looking to relax and unwind with exellent service we would highly recommend this hotel

Just returned from two perfect weeks at this super hotel.Food was fantastic especially the a la carte restaurant which is a must. Gardens and sun bathing areas perfect, waiters coming around evry half hour or so to take drinks orders. Entertainment was pretty good, particularly the 4pm quiz at the pool area. Always plenty of sun beds available .Rooms pleasant, very clean well furnished. The only change I would make if I went again would be to book half board and upgrade with a drinks package, there was just too much food with the all inclusive. Loads of choice for breakfast, three course lunch and three course evening meal. No wonder I put on half a stone. Our best holiday yet.

I am staying at Regina gardens in the Tomb of Kings area, after reading some forums am concerned that it is well out of the way of "main Paphos" I dont want a noisy nightlife, but would like resturants etc to eat nearby. Have not had many holidays, this my third and my first DIY one and would love it to be greta, but cannot seem to find any information on that area! Thanks for any help given, much appreciated!

Hey, I'm just back from staying in the exact same apartments as you! The apartments are lovely, for a start. And honestly, dont worry about nightlife! If you come out of apartments and turn right, there are plenty of bars and restaurants (i'd recommend the outback bar/restaurant....theres a guy called jack who works there whos very nice :) and then for the busier nightlife, bars and clubs....its a 5/10 minute taxi ride to bar street where all the main places are. We walked back from there one night....so cant be too far (altho was fuelled by the alcohol, so....!) The harbour is walkable, and that has lots of nice places for lunch and some shops...if u come out apartments and cross road, u go down a wee street between the 2 sides of roman hotel, turn right and go up a dirt track....bear right when u come out of there (billboard for McD's should be in front of u!) and across the road will be a weird tree with lots of ribbons tied to it. Go up that road to the right (will pass newsagents, tattoo place and debenhams!) and u will come to the harbour. Have a great holiday! Wish i was going back!

Thanks for that getting myself right worked up (prehaps you could tell!!) Did you hire a car at all? Another worry?? Like to explore and not a great lover or the "hectic nightlife" too old, but enjoy eating in nice pubs etc... Are people friendly etc? Any other tips? Thanks

Don't panic, there is a bus that runs along Tomb of the Kings road and will take you to the harbour where all the nicer resturants are. The buses come every ten minutes although it isn't too far to walk. You can hire a car for as little as £15 a day for a small one and there are many lovely places to visit. I'm going back next month for the fourth time and yes the local people are friendly and helpful. Hope you enjoy your stay.
