Riu Hotels

Really relaxing holiday just what we needed as we wait around for the summer.

Although we dont play golf there must be a golf course nearby as a lot of people in the hotel had golfing bags with them when they set off for the day. Thats not much help really is it. I will find out where the Golf course is and then edit this page.

Very Nice Hotel

We spent last week at this hotel which is next door to its sister hotel The Riu Cypria maris. We were all inclusive which was excellent. The food was very good, the service was also perfect hell the whole holiday was brilliant! I would deffinately recommend this hotel although be prepared for a decent walk into town. Or better still catch the local bus its cheap enough for 60cents you can go are far as you like.
The other strange thing I will say about it was the cost of the calls home from the hotel phone. Next to nothing was a the charge for 3 calls home well it was about a pound !!! yes a pound this is not a spelling mistake, I asked them to check at the reception desk and it was correct phone calls are very cheap and they drive on the same side of the road as us what more could you want.

Unique Quality: The hotel pool is a must although a bit cold when we were there.

The lobby was very comfortable with comfy leather sofas.

More about Hotel Riu Cypria Bay

Do not stay here if you want a stress free holiday

by A TripAdvisor Member

Myself and my partner booked to stay at this hotel the previous April and over the course our 2 week stay we were to be joined by 64 guests for our wedding, all of which had booked to stay in the Cypria Bay with us.
Little did we expect that such a simple request as staying in the actual hotel you have booked and paid for was by no means a certainty. Of the 64 guests they tried to put over half in the sister hotel next door as they said they had double booked a number of rooms.
When we complained about this we were greeted with utter contempt from the reception staff who basically told us we had got what we paid for and could not see a problem.
A number of that managed to stay in the right hotel did not get the sea view rooms they had paid extra for.
Eventually 18 of our guests agreed to stay next door and we then focused on having a relaxing time with our friends and family only for matters to get worse.
On the first night we attended the restaurant in trousers only to see approxiamately have the male's in shorts. As the restuanrant is very hot with little or no air conditioning we decided to wear our tailored shorts from now on and for 9 days in a row we we greeted at the entrance to the restaurant by the manager and exchanged pleasentries each evening as we entered such as 'good evening'etc. On the 10th day of our holiday the same happened as described above but when we went to get a starter we were asked by the manager (the same man who has greeted us each night) to leave the restaurant. When we asked why, he pointed at our shorts. We explained that we had done see previously and he never mentioned anything and we have already started our meal. He then threatened to call the police infront of a full restuarant to have us removed! Thius despite approx half of the males in the room also wearing shorts!

In summary the Cypria Bay is clean, pictureresque with decent facilities. The only apesct letting it down badly is the organisation and management which unfortuantely for the paying guests in non-existent.

Great Hotel

My family and I (ages 4,34,33,26,27) have just returned from an excellent holiday at the Riu Cypria Bay. Upon arrival we were swiftly taken to our rooms which were next door to each other as requested. We paid extra for a pool view which was well worth it the view was great. We had fruit and wine waiting for us in our room and as we were on a late flight there were sandwiches available for us also.
The weather was great for the whole two weeks and the pools were beautiful with lovely bridges and gardens. The water in the pools was nice and warm but cool enough to cool you down.
The hotel itself was very clean and they were constantly cleaning to ensure it was kept clean.
The food - where do I start - there was food available all day from breakfast until supper time. There was so much food to choose from every day - homemade soup, salads, various meat and fish, potatoes, chips, pasta, rice, lasagne, spag bol. Things for the kids pizza, sausage and wonderful chicken nuggets that my son loved. We had some of the best meals ever in the restaurant. I would be very shocked if you couldn't find something nice to eat. They did a speciality which was like a beef stew and the sauce was lovely with big chinks of lovely cooked beef in it and it was all beef no fatty gristly bits.

People did tend to get up and reserve sunbeds, however there was generally enough beds for everyone. The hotel has built some decking that goes out into the sea which is also available for sunbeds.

We had a great holiday here and would certainly return.
