Got Moved After 1 Night!
Was going to write a load of stuff on this hotel, but one statement will do I hope.
If you are used to staying self catering for £150 a week in Spain, you will love it here.
Please, please ,please rebook before its too late.
Overall a good hotel

Stayed at the Cypria Maris in May 2006. On arriving late evening, first impressions were that it was quite dark and oldish being in a medieval theme. Although it is a little tired and the bedrooms and especially the bathrooms could do with a refurb, it is very clean and a relaxing and friendly hotel. We are a couple without children so wanted a fairly quiet and relaxed holiday. Having seen some of the other hotels nearly, and the sister hotel next door the Cypria Bay, I was extremely pleased that we chose the Cypria Maris.
Not worth four stars

I stayed, with a party of eight other people, including an eight year old, for a weeks holiday, for my sisters wedding.
To put it blankly, the hotel was not worth its four star rating. The Riu Cypria Bay hotel however was absolutely gorgeous.
First impressions;
As you first walk in, you're greated by a moderate reception decordated in a "traditional" cyprian manner, perhaps contributing the less than four star rating it's worthy of. The bedrooms are fine, but again not four star worthy.
Food;
The food was beautiful and offered a wide range of choice every night catering for the more adventerous (I tried the muscles) and people who prefer to eat pasta and potatoes. The way you dinned however was a little bizzare.
They have two sittings for the evening meal; one from 6 - 7-45 PM and one from 8 - 10PM. While, for obvious reasons this is a good idea, you cannot swap and change between the two sittings at the last minute if your plans change and we found that the staff got a little annoyed if you did this and they were very unflexible.
It was honestly the most perculiar way of sorting out the guests and it didn't exactly cater for your needs.
As the Cypria Maris is only half board, they have toasties and sandwiches to buy at lunch, but that was about it. However, there is a supermarket right across the road which sold lovely sandwiches at a much cheaper cost.
Entertainment -
In the Cypria Maris, there was a very small form of entertainment on each night such as a singer, however, you could always go to the Cypria Bay for a childrens disco and some more adult entertainment later on.
We found this really good and we could swap and change between the two hotels depending on the whims of my eight year old niece.
Pool & Beach;
Both hotels are right on it's very own man-made beach which offered and range of watersports. Both were litterley seconds away which was wonderful as you could do as your please and not have to spend a full day at the beach.
However, you could feel the concreate beneath you when in the sea which was a little worn in places but it was fine.
Overall, I'd say if you were thinking of staying at the Cypria Maris, I would really consider paying that little extra and going all inclusive next door at the Cypria Bay. That hotel was well worth it's rating and really made you say wow when you step inside. The Cypria Maris leaves you feeling a little bit fleeced to be honest. While the food is lovely and the cleaning staff are fantastic, I wouldn't reccomend this hotel if you want a 4* holiday
We found the hotel and Cyprus itself really quite expensive, quite a bit more than the UK so I wouldn't reccomend anything but an all inclusive stay.
Lovely Hotel
by TripAdvisor Member HelenGuy
We stayed here for two weeks in July 2006 with 14 family.
The rooms were lovely and clean, towels made in swans and sweets left daily the maids.
There are two sitting for meals in this hotel, 6.30pm-8.00pm and 8.30pm-10.00pm, when we arrived they had put us on the early one but changed it after we requested it, no problem. The food was lovely but quite repetive after 2 weeks but i think all hotels are the same.
The only times there were queues at the bar was 8.00pm-8.30pm this is when the restaurant is closed to re stock the food and at 11.45-12pm when its last orders, the hotel should provide more bar staff at these times.
The pool area is lovely but there is a lack of sunbeds, if your not down by 9am forgot it.
I did see some people being moved to the sister hotel Cypria Maris but a few refused and were found rooms, his would put me off going back there if i was not guaranteed i was a book into the Cypria bay.
Overall lovely hotel and enjoyable stay.
